The high way was jammed packed with cars, an accident had backed up traffic all the way up the interstate.
From the amount of firetrucks ambulances and cop cars it looked pretty big. Sitting about a mile down the
road right in the middle of traffic, Morgan Fairfield sat in her Black classic '69 GTO. The song Low Rider
came on pounding through the speakers and out the open windows. She kept time to the beat and banged
out the rythem of the song on the steering wheel of the car. Every once in a while singing along to the
corus.
As the traffic began to move into a steady crawl, the hum of a high performance muffler could be heard
kicking in and the deep bass cranked up as the car to the left of her came to life. A bright yellow Nissan
with limo-black tinted windows, the driver cranked up the stereo with a song by the Beastie Boys blairing
through their ears. As the line of traffic stopped again Morgan pulled one CD out and put in another,
shuffling the disk she let it play through 'no sleep till' Brooklyn' When the song ended the Nissan's
passenger side window rolled down exposing not the passenger but the driver.
"Nice ride," she said admiring the car. "Too bad Skyline's are illegal because you're on the wrong side."
She said pointing to the right sided steering.
The driver, a lean toned guy with sunglasses and a dark jersey on smirked. "Jut going to say the same thing,
Dawg." he said pulling off his glasses and giving a low whistle.
"What year is she?" A young kid about the age of 19 asked the question; who sat hidden in the passenger
side.
"Dawg, you getting slow on me? That's a classic '69 GTO." He chuckled and shook his head. "The poor
kid knows everything about every car built after 1970, but his education lacks the principals to respect the
old classics." He tsk'ed gaining a laugh from Morgan, the two in the Skyline began to talk to themselves
until the young kid quipped up, "I'll bet twenty bucks your wrong, Leon."
Unfortunately neither got their bet settled as the traffic in the exit ramp cleared and the GTO took it leaving
both to wonder whom the driver was.
"Wish I got her name," Leon muttered to himself. He looked at the kid next to him, his eyes were shut tight
and his face scrunched up as he muttered to himself. Pulling a pen out of his pocket he handed it to the kid,
Here Jesse so you'll actually remember."
He took the pen greatfully and quickly wrote something down on his wrist. "Even better, got the plates-
RCO*116." He handed the pen back and Leon hit the gas pulling off of the exit ramp.
Morgan was enjoying watching the two in the car next to her goofing around but the wining coming from
the back seat of her car had her worried. "Hold it in Barren." She muttered to not only herself but the six
month old Saint Bernard that sat cross-legged on the back bench of the GTO.
'I knew I should have walked him before we got onto the interstate, but then again I hadn't planned on
being stuck here the entire day.' She thought to herself. When she had seen the opening to the exit ramp she
had thrown the car into gear and gotten off the interstate looking for the first patch of grass available so she
wouldn't end up with a wet back bench.
'Please Barren, wait a little longer.' She prayed to herself. When she drove past the entrance to an open deli
she stopped the car threw it into reverse and pulled into a spot next to a grassy island. She hopped out then
flipped back the drivers seat, Barren shot out like a rocket, barreled to the middle of the grass and
proceeded to do his business. As her dog was occupied she looked over at the little Deli that also served as
a store. She looked back at the puppy, he was tired of eating dry dog food and Morgan really didn't blame
him, she decided to go check the place out once Barren was finished.
Walking up she tied the puppies leash to a chair then entered. A girl of about 20 stood leaning on the
countertop reading a magazine, She had long straight brown hair and to Morgan seemed to look like one of
those clothing models. She straightened and pushed the magazine away when Morgan sat down at the
counter, "Hi, what can I get you?" She asked smiling.
"A coke, a bottle of water, and two tuna fish sandwiches." Morgan said looking around the inside of the
place. It was lightly decorated with tile and beige faux finish on the walls. A couple paintings and pictures
hung on the walls accented by wall scones and crown molding. 'Cute place.' She thought to herself. As the
girl busied herself with the sandwiches Morgan got up from where she was sitting and began to inspect the
shelves towards the back of the store, in her perusal she found a couple cans of dog food. Picking some up
she brought them back to the counter. Just then the girl turned around and placed the two sandwiches on the
counter before going back to get the coke and water. As she walked back Morgan tapped the cans.
"You don't happen to have a can opener do you?" she asked.
A confused expression was visible on her face as the girl walked back and grabbed it and then handed it
over to Morgan. Morgan laughed at her expression. "Got to feed Barren, he doesn't like it when he doesn't
get his food. She pointed to the label of the can. At the mention of his name barren jumped up into the chair
he was tied to and began to growl and yelp. The girl laughed glad for the explanation.
"Let me grab you a bowl for that," she said turning. "By the way, I'm Mia." She held out her hand.
"Morgan," she said taking the offered hand. Then picked up the drinks plate of food and can of dog food
before walking to the table the puppy was tied to. The two sat down talking about Barren, his temperament,
and then enjoyed petting the large puppy.
Leon and Jesse drove to the Torettos' garage. Once there they unloaded the trunk of the parts from Harry's
store before Hopping into separate cars. Dom, Letty, and Vince soon followed getting into their own cars.
The two way in Leon's car clicked on "Yo, Leon," Vince said over the waves, "Don't forget we've got to
go pick up the Civic after lunch at the store. Aright?"
"Yo, Dawg. Forgot about that, I'll grab a ride to the store with you k?" Leon called into the two way before
hopping out of his car and getting into the passenger side of the blue Nissan Maxima Vince was driving.
