"When someone gives you their heart, you have to be careful not to drop it," Willow looked up at Jerome, a brave smile plastered on her face. She had loved everything about him- for years, way before Mara even noticed him. And she had gotten the chance to date him…but it hadn't turned out very successful, considering he was now standing in front of her, apologizing for his actions before a date with Joy.

One of the things she had always loved was his height- she loved to imagine herself standing on her tippy toes and leaning up to kiss him. She loved his eyes too- they were an overwhelming shade of blue and she had often wondered how it would feel if those same eyes were placed on her the same way he used to look at Mara. But that had never happened, had it? She had never actually been with Jerome Clarke; she had been a challenge and nothing more, the second choice.

"Willow…" Jerome started, running a hand through his hair. Oh, his hair.

"You dropped my heart," Willow gave him a weak smile, tears welling in her eyes. She willed herself to be strong, because that was what she had always wanted to be- one of those strong type of heroines who never cried. She wanted to be able to look Jerome in the eye without reliving the crashing sound that had filled her ears as her heart slipped from his hands. "But it's okay," she promised, wiping the tears with the back of her hand. "Because if you hadn't, I wouldn't be with Alfie right now."

"And I wouldn't be with Joy," Jerome grinned, glad she was understanding that this had all happened for a reason. Willow watched him curiously as they slipped into silence.

"I liked you for six years, you know that?" Willow asked quietly before offering one of those weak smiles. But it didn't seem like she was trying to put him on a guilt trip- she acted as if the words were a casual reminder. "I don't know if you knew that…I was always Weeping Willow to you."

Jerome began to say something, but Alfie's distant shout cut them off. Jerome gently patted her on the back as a conclusion to their conversation and Willow observed him with sad eyes. "Your aura's dark blue," Willow commented. "That means you're sad. Don't be sad, Jerome." Jerome nodded, watching her curiously, and Willow leaned in to peck her cheek. "I don't like it when you're sad." Jerome bit his lip- he was going to miss Willow in a way, going to miss the innocence that came with her.

Alfie appeared at the door just as they separated, looking breathless and confused. Willow gave Jerome one last bittersweet smile before looking to Alfie, "I was just looking for you!"

"We're going on a date at the bowling alley," Alfie explained to Jerome, who nodded wordlessly, surprised at how easily Willow had turned the situation around.

"SQUEE!" she beamed, hugging Alfie tightly. "Massive excite!" Jerome watched as Alfie laughed, the couple making their way out of the room. Joy entered the room just as they left, decked out in a purple dress for their romantic dinner date. Jerome smirked at the sight, mockingly giving her his arm to hold as they walked out the front door.

When someone gives you their heart, you have to be careful not to drop it.

He might've dropped Willow's, and he might've dropped Mara's, but as he looked at the beautiful girl beside him, Jerome Clarke made a vow to never drop Joy's.
