Disclaimer: I don't own Bones or and of the lyrics form Rent. :'(

Without you, the ground thaws, the rain falls, the grass grows.
Without you, the seeds root, the flowers bloom, the children play.
The stars gleam, the poets dream, the eagles fly, without you.
The earth turns, the sun burns, but I die, without you.

It had been 2 months since Brennan had gone over to Darfur to identify genocide victims. 2 months with no connection with her partner. A connection she hadn't realized how much she relied on to get through her day to day life. Until now that is. Now that she was cut off. She found herself distracted during identification, making easy mistakes. How had she become this person? This person who relied on someone else to make her happy. She had worked so hard to build up her defenses. When had he broken down her walls? And didn't she notice?

Without you, the stars roar the breeze warms, the girl smiles, the cloud moves.
Without you, the tides change, the boys run, the oceans crash.
The crowds roar, the days soar, the babies cry, without you.
The moon glows, the river flows, but I die, without you.

2 months. 2 infinitely long months. That is how long he had been without his Bones. He didn't know how he could have made it this long, and to make it for the final month seemed absolutely impossible. He knew that the work she was doing important. But he wanted to be selfish. HE needed her more. HE needed his Temperance, his Bones.

The world revives—
Colors renew—
But I know blue, only blue, lonely blue, within me blue.

Without you.

Brennan remembered that the jury consultant from that case not too long ago had said that blue presented truth. Blue to her was her blue lab coat at the Jeffersonian, he family of squints, her Booth. Booth. Booth was the one who had explained to her what the saying "feeling blue" meant. That is how she felt now. She felt "blue"

Without you, the hand gropes, the ear hears, the pulse beats.
Without you, the eyes gaze, the legs walk, the lungs breathe.

Booth had taken to running. Lots of running. HE had almost seriously inured himself. But throwing himself into a world of exercising, working hard enough that he could almost drive her out of his head, was dangerous, almost impossible. His lungs were on fire. His muscles burned but he couldn't stop. If he stopped then she when come back into his thoughts. He couldn't focus when all he could do was think about her.

The mind churns!

She needed him!

The mind churns!

He needed her!

The heart yearns!

She loved him!

The heart yearns!

He loved her!

The tears dry, without you.
Life goes on, but I'm gone.
Cause I die, without you.

Armed with a startling revelation, Brennan headed to her boss, telling him that she had to get on the first plane back to DC.

"Does it have anything to do with this Booth you keep saying so much about? Oh don't look so shocked, you never shut up. Go Temperance, you need to have a life, before these people do. Be happy."

And with his blessing she got on the first Hummer ride to the nearest airport.

Without you.

Booth almost crashed the car for the fifth time. He was on a rush to the airport. He had just gotten a voice mail from Bones. She was coming home!

Without you.

She hurried off of the plane and through the airport. Her heart stopped when she saw both standing at the top of the elevators, waiting for her. She ran towards him and never looked back.

Without you.

To the casual passerby they looked like any couple, embracing after a long absence. But to the agent and the Forensic anthropologist, it was a kiss full of magic and fireworks. They looked at each other and said in unison. "I love you, and I don't even again want to be without you.
