For years, people had hated him. They had stabbed him in the back and laughed about it. They called him things such as 'asshole' and 'bastard'. Those were some of the more common ones, but not the only ones. Who were they though? They were House's best friends. Dr. Gregory House, M.D. Who were his best friends though? Something he would never admit to, is that his best friends were none other than Cuddy, Cameron, Foreman, Chase, and Wilson.

No matter how many lives he saved, it wouldn't be good enough. He saved them in a way no other doctors did. He took chances, and went with his gut feeling. That was his method. That was the House method.

The patients had a problem and he eventually found an answer. To him it didn't matter how he cured them, just that he did. His team thought this was stupid. They thought he was a heartless bastard. Cuddy and Wilson simply thought he was a crazy asshole.

He would never tell anybody how much that hurt him. Each and every time one of his friends said something like that, he felt as though he was shot again. Not one of them had thought that maybe he, just like the rest of them, had feelings.

Today was the day, the day he would just get away from all the pain. Well, not all the pain, he still had his leg to worry about after all. House had been thinking this over for the past month. Each time he thought he could do it, he just couldn't. Today was the day he would announce his retirement.

-

House parked his motorcycle in his handicap space. After taking off his helmet, he took a moment to look out at everything in front of him. It was the same view he saw every morning. The only difference was, today would be his last.

-

"House! What took you so long! There's a patient on the third floor, she really nee-" Cuddy began but was cut off by the very man she was yelling at.

"Cuddy, save your breathe, I'm about to leave anyway." Cuddy stared at him curiously as he limped over to her. House was avoiding her gaze the whole way there. Once he stood directly in front of her, he looked up into her eyes. They stared at each other for several seconds before House slipped an envelop into Cuddy's hand. The female doctor tore her gaze away to inspect the envelope. She was about to question him about it, but when she looked up, he was gone.

-

Cuddy ran as fast as she could to get to Wilson. He was with a patient right now, but she didn't care. Cuddy threw the door open and looked around the room, surprised to find only a man in bed, and his wife. "Is there something wrong doctor?" the woman asked.

"Oh, umm, no. I was just looking for someone."

"Am I that someone?" Wilson asked coming up from behind her. Cuddy jumped a little at the sudden voice. She spun around to look at Wilson.

"Wilson, we need to talk." She said, more serious than she had ever been.

"It'll have to wait, I'm with a patient right now." He said.

"No, it can't wait."

"I'm sure whatever it is, it can wait five minutes."
"Wilson! House is gone!" She yelled at him.

This story will probably only be 2 chapters long

Maybe 3

I don't want any reviews covering the following

First) no flames please

Second) no asking if this will be a Huddy or any other couple story, this is purely house centered

Third) none saying, I wrote something just like this! Thief! Well I'll tell you right now, I've never read any house fanfictions, and from the fictions I have read, none of them had this idea

Fourth) can I use this idea but twist parts of the story? No you can't. to be honest, I probably won't know if you do this, but id rather you steel it than ask me for it
