A/N: This is just a short little one-shot dedicated to Alfons and Noah. I love that pairing. Anyway, it's not very good, but I like it, and I hope you do too.
Noah sat quietly on a chair in her apartment, lost deep in thought. Tears pricked her eyes, but she didn't notice. She was thinking of him again. The one man she truly loved, but he was gone now.
She was shaken from her thoughts by a small child. "Mama, why are you sad?" asked a little girl no older than six.
"I'm not sad Rose, I'm just thinking." She replied, smiling slightly at her little girl.
"Well what are you thinking about?" Rose asked curiously.
"I'm thinking about your Papa." Rose was quiet for a moment. She was young, but she was also smart, and she knew how much Noah missed Alfons. Finally she spoke.
"What was Papa like?" she asked quietly.
"Your Papa was a great man Rose. He was a rocket scientist. He gave his life to help Edward return home. He and Ed saved me you know. I was going to be sold, but they saved me, and gave me a place to stay. You remind me so much of him Rose." She said, running a hand through Rose's long blonde hair. Rose seemed sad though.
"I'm sorry Mama." She said quietly. Noah shook her head.
"No Rose, don't be sorry. Like I said, your Papa was a great man. You should be proud to be like him."
"Really? It doesn't make you sad?" Noah shook her head again.
"No, it makes me happy. You're going to do great things Rose, just like he did." Rose smiled slightly.
"But don't you miss him?"
"Of course I miss him, but I know that even though he's not here with us, he loves us. And I think he's very proud of who you're becoming." Rose smiled a bit bigger.
"You think he's proud of me?"
"I know he's proud of you, and I am too." Rose leaned up as far as she could and hugged her mother.
"He's proud of you too Mama." She whispered. "And I think he misses you as well."
