Title : Lost and Won
Pairing : Inui/Kaidoh
Summary : Inui was injured after the double match with Akaya-Yanagi and the worried Kaidoh came to see Inui's condition. Fluff. A short fic I made because of an LJ entry, 'we love Kaidoh week'
Kaidoh knocked the door to Inui's room in a hospital before he came inside.
"Senpai, are you getting better?" He asked while putting down some breads he bought just then. "I bought you this."
"Thanks for your concern Kaidoh. According to my data, there's 88% chance that you will come over." Inui's voice was not that loud because of the bandage covering his face. Kinda creep Kaidoh.
"So we lost." He sighed.
"Yeah, but we still win right? I mean as a team."
"Yeah."
There's an awkward silence which conquered the room for a few minutes. It's so silent that both of them could hear the wind blew the curtain softly. Nobody started a new topic. Kaidoh closed his eyes, listening to the wind.
"Kaidoh." Inui's call snap Kaidoh's closed eyes opened.
"Y-yes?"
"I heard that you're going to be Seigaku tennis club next captain."
"You heard right."
"Well, good luck with that."
For a few second, there's sadness in Kaidoh's eyes. "You're graduating, senpai."
"Oh, don't worry. I'll come time after time to see how you're doing."
Then he made a little smile in relief. He is going to see Inui again after all.
"By the way, I want you to keep all of my juice recipes for the other oncoming regulars so you can-"
"I'll pass." He cut Inui's sentence.
"That's a pity..."
"Oh, it's 2 already. I have to go now, see you around, senpai." Kaidoh took his backpack and stood up.
"Take care."
"Thanks for bearing with me." Kaidoh said. "You're the best double partner for me, senpai. I wish we could play together again sometime." He smiled slightly.
"I'll look forward to that time, Kaidoh. I enjoyed being your partner."
Not realizing it, he blushed and turned away. "See you."
"Bye." Inui said as Kaidoh opened the door and went outside.
"We lost the match but we won the battle."
