The pitter-patter of the rain on the leaves above filled my ears. The fresh, erotic scent of the damp ground wafted all around me, teasing my senses. The raindrops that trickled down my face, into my mouth, tasted sweet and fresh, like the early winter air.

I was standing in the middle of a jade green labyrinth, with no idea of how I got there. The vivid-coloured leaves of the Douglas fir trees stood out in stark contrast against the patches of the gray sky.

I had no idea why I was here in this beautiful, mysterious place. I was confused. And the anxiousness that had me teetering, clasping onto the edge, added to my confusion. It was as if I was looking for something, looking for something that I didn't know of and couldn't see.

I urged my legs to move, and began to weave through the ferns and bushes. The rain did not touch me, did not soak through my clothes or hair.

After I had walked for an endless amount of time, there was a faint, white light ahead. It warmed my cold cheeks, lit up the dark, gray forest. I beckoned the light, welcomed it with open arms. I didn't like the dark and the cold all that much.

I was beyond curious, and more than a little awe-struck; I began to walk deafly towards the light. It wasn't until I got too close that I noticed something out of the ordinary.

The light source wasn't anything I would have thought, like the sun, or a comet. It was a person. More so, it was a boy. He looked about sixteen or seventeen, with golden skin and a head of long, thick hair. His cheekbones were prominent and the smile on his pink lips was so breathtaking, it almost knocked me off of my feet.

"You shouldn't be wandering around this forest alone." The voice was so beautiful, it took my breath away.

"W-who are you?" My voice caught; more out of awe than of fear.

"You know." The voice was mocking, amused. He chuckled as he saw my awed expression melt into one of confusion.

I opened my mouth to speak, but the words were swallowed in the rain. I cleared my throat and tried again. "Do I know you?"

The beautiful boy smiled and laughed, and the sound of it sent pleasurable quivers down my spine. "I am no figment of your imagination. You know me as well as you know yourself."

I was confused. There was no way that I knew this boy, never. His form was about as familiar as this labyrinth of a forest.

"I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I know you." My flabbergasted tone sent him into peels of soprano laughter.

And that's when my dream came to an end.
