Mother's day

It was the second Sunday of May. Everyone was surrounded by their beloved parents. Sonic was giving his mom flowers, while Amy was handing her mother a batch of fresh chocolate cupcakes. The whole room was full of joy and love.

All but one gloomy corner. In the corner, brooding stood Shadow the Hedgehog. It wasn't that he hated today, but something else was bugging him. Something Sonic knew that would probably ruin the entire day's mood.

"Hey Shads!" Sonic said grinning, Shadow looked up at him. "Not you..." Shadow muttered. Sonic frowned.

"Shadow, at least try to be happy." Shadow raised an eyebrow. "This day means a lot to a lot of people, like my mum. In fact, today was the day she married!"

Shadow looked away. "Why should I care?" Sonic smiled.

"I think someone's a bit jealous." Sonic said, smirking. "What!?" Shadow grunted.

"I know for a fact that you want a family more than anyone else." Sonic said. "I know that you're lonely."

"Am not." Shadow scoffed, puffing up his chest. "You don't know anything."

With that he exited through the door, but not before taking a quick look, that only Sonic would ever notice. He had stared longingly at Cream. Cream at the time was hugging her mother, while Vanilla patted her gently on her head.

With a sigh he left.

Just a mother's day story. Just take the time to remember everything your parents do for you. Be grateful for what you have
