Challenge for Gemclan

The Birth

Brookstar was in the leader's den as she was about to fall asleep when Weedwhisker, the medicine cat, came in the den.

"Hello Brookstar, I was wandering if you would want to collect herbs with me." Weedwhisker said.

"Sure, I have nothing better to do when I'm cooped up in this den all day!" Brookstar said she was dying to get out of camp!

When they start to walk out of camp, the deputy, Dawnheart, came up to them.

"Brookstar? Where are you going?" Dawnheart said with disproved look on her face

"Outside. Why?" Brookstar said

"What about your kits? Every cat knows kits can come at anytime!"Dawnheart said.

"I'll be fine!" Brookstar said.

"Try telling that to Blackwhisker. As your mate, he will NEVER let you out of camp." Dawnheart said

"Who called my name?" Blackwhisker said he could hear a mouse all the way up to the mountain tops!

"Brookstar was going to go out of camp" Dawnheart said.

"No she is not. Brookstar, what did I tell you?

"Sigh; don't go out of camp until my kits become apprentices, unless it's a deadly situation where the clan needs it leader, or the gatherings."

"Good, now please get some rest" Blackwhiaker said as she gave her mate a swift lick. He was only trying to protect his mate.

"Fine." Brookstar said as she jumped to her den.

The day went be quick the light was out, but it was sunset, and Brookstar knew this was her chance.

She quietly slipped out of camp without anyone noticing. They were too busy about patrols.

"Finally I can have peace and quiet by myself. Maybe I can to the rocks by the river, and watch the sunset as she was walking, she felt a kick, and another kick. It was time for her kitting.

"WEEDWHISKER!" She cried. Thankfully the pale gray medicine cat was there. Blackwhisker also heard her cry, and rushed to help.

After 5 hours of kitting later, Brookstar had 4 healthy kits.

"I think we should name the gray she-kit Fernkit, the ginger she-kit Heatherkit, the black she-kit Breezekit and the and Brown she-kit Bramblekit.

Brookstar was happy with her 4 healthy kits.
