Puff of Indignation
Charlie had been ignoring her 'research partner', but with an aching back from sitting hunched over and her head starting to throb, she ironically couldn't take the silence any longer.
"Most of those who've already tried deciphering the Book are pretty shady," she declared.
Rowena barely grunted an acknowledgement.
"Y'know, one was the origin of the 'Hansel and Gretel' myth; she'd kidnap orphans to bake into pies." Charlie held up the illustrated document in disgust.
"Och, that's terrible!" cried Rowena.
"Yep," agreed Charlie, wondering if perhaps they'd finally found some common ground.
"Puff pastry gives me dreadful heartburn," added Rowena.
