This poem was floating around in my head for a while and it really reminded me of Zett/Emperor of Darkness Z. Don't own Toqgers, etc.

Interesting how a creature of darkness could love the light so much
Longing for the shining, the brightness, the sun,
But I will always be a creature of darkness,
The Black, the depressing, the darkness
I feel I cannot escape,
Every time I try and get close to the brightness
I get pulled right back
But I feel if I became of the light
I would miss the dark
I would miss the black
I would miss the depression
So here I am
A creature of darkness
Chasing the glitter that I can never obtain
