As it says in the synopsis, this is just a piece of dialogue of a much longer fic i am thinking of writing. This scene does continue, and Raven evters at one point, but right now this is the only part of this scene that I am happy with.
"You tried to pay my wife to leave town?" Garfield demanded, kicking the black leather couch in anger as he entered the room.
Terra tossed her honey blonde hair over her shoulder and sat down, crossing her ankles delicately. "Is this about the money, darling? Surely not. You could make back the two million in a month."
"Of course it's not about the money, Terra." Garfield sat down across from her, running his hands through his thick hair. "We've been divorced for three years. It's time you stopped sticking your nose in my business."
"It's hard to keep my nose out of your business when you continue to do your business in my house."
Garfield looked up from his hands, already exhausted from talking with his ex wife. "How many times do I have to tell you that you're not welcome in the Tower? No one wants you here and you make people uncomfortable."
Terra put a small hand to her heart, as though she was hurt by what he said, and it was the first time she was hearing it. Even though it really wasn't.
"Terra," Gar continued. "Raven and I have been together for almost three years now. It's time that you accept it and move on. You need to learn that you can't just throw money at the problem!"
"Aha!" Terra stood up, pointing a perfectly manicured finger at Gar's forehead as she leaned forward slowly, accusingly. "So you admit that she's the problem."
Garfield sighed in exasperation, standing to leave, but Terra was close at his heels, her combat boots thumping on the carpeted floor.
"Gar, sweetie, you know we belong together. It's only a matter of time before you leave that little money muncher and return to your true love!"
Garfield spun on his heels, not moving away when his forehead pressed intimidatingly against Terra's, though he held in a gag. His voice was hard and full of anger. "Terra," she flinched. He never sounded this serious. Gar continued in a dangerous whisper. "We are divorced. Get over it and stop acting like a petty child." He turned his back, slamming the door behind him.
Terra stood still for a moment, then walked delicately over to the coffee table and pulled her compact out of her purse. She looked at her gorgeous face in the mirror and wiped a single tear from her cheek. "I am a shining example of all that is beautiful in this world," she whispered to herself.
