KakaIru fic! To Kotten!
Iruka was on his way home from a tiring day at the Academy. It had been quite the tough day, and all he wanted now was to get home and sleep. It was very late too, almost eight thirty. He had stayed in the Academy, correcting tests and was now halfway across the schoolyard, when a dark silhouette approached him. He had already gotten into a slightly defensive stance, when he saw who it was. Kakashi had apparently been drinking but it didn't seem like a lot anyway.
Kakashi had just come from the bar after trying to reap up some courage and follow his students advice, namely confess to Iruka. But it was slightly tough, considering he now saw two different Irukas. He tried to focus his vision on one, but that hurt his head a little too much to be able to give a pure, heart-felt confession. And so, he decided to use his students specialty; blurting it right out.
"I love you, Iruka". What he got was slightly unexpected.
"Go home, you're drunk." Iruka said as he tried to start walking again, only to be hindered by Kakashi. He blinked. Suddenly, Kakashi seemed a lot closer. Iruka also heard Kakashi mutter "At least, let me kiss you" as he leaned forward, reaching to withdraw his mask…
And fell flat on his face.
Pulling himself from the ground, Kakashi heard Iruka chuckle slightly, and grew a red tint around his nose. Soon he felt a pair of hands helping him up, and Irukas voice said
"Come on, you can sleep off the alcohol at my apartment".
Iruka heaved Kakashis left arm over his own shoulders, and tightened his grip on Kakashis waist. He couldn't help but look at Kakashis face as he did this, and found his face quite cute actually, with that small blush around his nose. None of them knew what to say, with Kakashi dozing off from being drunk, and Iruka thinking over Kakashis words. Kakashi couldn't really feel that for him, right? It was probably the alcohol talking, Iruka decided and ignored the tiny ache in his heart.
Irukas apartment was cozy, not tiny but not huge either. A bedroom, a kitchen and a livingroom, all quite nice in size. Iruka laid Kakashi in the bed, preferring the couch today. He slung himself on the couch and was asleep not a minute after.
The next day, Kakashi woke up to the smell of fried eggs and bacon, and felt his mouth watering. But wait, where was he? Oh right, probably at Irukas apartment…
As he tried to sit up, his head started protesting wildly and he was forced down onto the pillow again by a hand on his chest. He followed the hand to its owner and was found blushing after remembering yesterdays fiasco. Kakashi quickly looked away again, embarassed for all the world to see.
Iruka gently sat on the side of the bed and put a tray with breakfast on Kakashis lap. Kakashi munched on the food, not wanting to say anything after yesterday. In the end, it was Iruka who started.
"Do you remember anything from yesterday?" he said.
"Yeah, everything." Every word, failed second and embarassing drunkness, Kakashi thought to himself.
"Did… did you… did you mean anything?" Iruka asked, looking anxiously on Kakashi.
Kakashi did a double take. Iruka looked so cute while biting his lower lip like that, and it looked as if he wanted Kakashi to say yes.
"I mean, I just want to know, curious is all…" Iruka said, quickly hiding his feelings. He knew that Kakashi would never feel for him like that, why even bother? Iruka said to himself.
This time, Kakashi smiled to himself and brought back Irukas surprised eyes on himself as he caressed Irukas cheek with his left hand.
"Yes. I meant everything."
And with that, he finally got his denied kiss from yesterday.
