"...And you think you're the funniest guy ever. Your pranks are just hilarious. Har- bloody- har! "
"And you're always going on about how messy my hair is."
"All you ever care about is quidditch!"
"And saying that I'm some spoiled rich brat when I'm clearly not."
"And you keep walking around with that stupid grin of yours."
"And that I have an ego too big to fit in the room."
"And I hate how you make me love you."
"And you're just always ranting without giving me a chan- what? "
"Nothing."
"Evans, I heard it."
"Heard what?"
"That."
"Wow, aren't you specific."
"Don't act innocent."
"I am innocent."
"Stop avoiding it."
"Avoiding what?
"What you said."
"What did I say?"
"You confessed."
"Oh damn, did I finally let it slip that the fact that you drool while sleeping and it disgusts me?"
"Nice try. But I'm not going to forget it."
"There is nothing to forget."
"Evans, there is really no point in lying."
"Me and lie? Bah... That's like McGonagall and pranks. Are you sure you're alright?"
"I'm feeling splendid now that I know my feelings are no longer unrequited."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"I think you do."
Her face turned crimson but she didn't open her mouth.
"Oy prongsie, you two done yelling? Did Evans finally leave? Dear Merlin, that woman is scary when she's mad," Sirius said while coming down the stairs.
At the sight of her, he turned pale.
"You know, I really have to finish this essay Slughorn gave us. I'll just be on my way to the library. Don't you two mind me."
"Padfoot, the library's that way," said Remus.
"Of course I knew that. I just wanted some exercise."
"That was leading to the girls washroom."
"You know since Remus seems to think he's the only one who knows the way around here , I'll just take him along. "
He yanked Remus down the stairs and out of their view.
"So, Evans, back to where we left off."
"Potter, I have to finish an essay. Get out of my way."
"You said you loved me."
She giggled nervously.
"Now, did I? Must have been a slip of tongue. Probably wanted to say USA. Marlene went for the summer there. Brought me souvenirs too."
He sighed and looked away, "You're never going to admit it are you?"
She just stared.
"Do you?"
"Maybe."
"Okay."
"James, I need time."
He smiled, a lopsided grin that made her stomach explode.
"I'll wait for you Lils. I'll always wait for you. "
She smiled, then pressed a kiss on his cheek and ran up the stairs to her dorm.
"Welcome, darling. We're so sorry your little boy was destined for such a bad fate," said Dorea sympathetically.
He smiled as he hugged his parents.
"Come along now."
"I can't come right now."
"Honey but..."
He said simply, "I'll wait."
And two minutes later she arrived, her dark red hair flowing around her, green eyes vibrant as ever as she hugged her husband.
"You waited."
"I'll always wait for you, Lils."
She smiled at him.
"Harry survived."
"And now we'll wait for him. "
