Being three months pregnant, Carrie wondered, once more, whether this baby was the right move. She wondered whether she'd come to a decision based merely on Biggs happiness, or whether she, deep down, wanted the baby as well.

Standing in her apartment with the white wedding dress held up over her body, Carrie noticed the tiny bump, which had appeared over night. Her winter wedding now had to be a maternity winter wedding . . .a sentence that didn't quite fit. Yes she'd agreed to be the happy house-mum Bigg wanted and yes, she had initialised the winter wedding instead of spring but she wondered now whether or not this was her 'quick fix' to get out of a sticky situation.

She hung her dress back in the closet and sat at her laptop. She hadn't told the paper her 'good' news; she couldn't face loosing her column. She started tapping away.

As a woman's special day draws closer, I wonder whether all the preparations they go through to get there are worth it?

With a little help from Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha – Carrie had been able to plan her wedding in three weeks, with time to spare. For Carrie, deciding to have this baby had been a wedding preparation. The way she saw it, without the baby, there would be no wedding.

Is a woman's weakness a white wedding and happy-go-lucky life?

This was her happy-go-lucky life, she knew it was, because she loved Bigg, and Bigg loved this baby. She put a cigarette to her lips but hesitated when lighting it. She knew she shouldn't be smoking, she was pregnant. She flicked the flicker and lit the tobacco tube. The inhale of smoke was good – natural. It seemed to calm her of everything else going on in her life. After three puffs she stubbed it out, suddenly aware of her responsibilities. It hit her, just like that, that pretty soon she would have to watch out for both herself and a baby. It scared her; she could hardly take care of herself and her designer wardrobe, let alone an attention-needed child.

Do men expect all women to be the same; a sucker for marriage and an oven for future buns?

She stood up and started to walk towards the bathroom. There was a sharp twinge in her stomach. She stopped. What was it? She crouched down to the floor and held her side. This wasn't right, this wasn't normal. Carrie wondered whether she was losing the baby. Loosing her baby.

Was this her quick-fix solution???
