A/N: I will keep these to a minimum, but I would like to give basic information. My New Year's Resolution is to publish something everyday. It's not limited to this archive though, I have started something in the Fairy Tail archive. I do not own Ouran High School Host Club.

"Sempei? Could you help me?" asked the newest member of the club, Haruhi.

The sempei she was referring to in this case was the one and only Shadow King, Kyoya Ootori. He didn't bother looking up and instead continued to set the club's budget, the keys from his keyboard clicking loudly.

"What is it now, Haruhi? I'm very busy at the moment."

"I was just wondering if you would help me with lighting this."

Now Kyoya was slightly confused, wondering what in the world Haruhi could need help lighting. Even so, he continued to feign disinterest, sure if it was of any importance,he would find out eventually. "Why don't you get someone else to help you? I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you."

"Well, I normally would, but they all left for the day." the younger girl said.

At this, the Shadow King finally glanced around the room, not realizing how involved he had gotten. Taking a look at the clock, he realized it'd been more than three hours since he looked up. Deciding he needed a break anyway, he glanced at the box currently being held in Haruhi's hand. It was a very color box, with the word "FIREWORKS" printed in bold letters. There were so many warning labels he wondered if it was even legal.

"Haruhi, where exactly did you acquire such things?"

"The twins had them, and I figured they'd break something and it would be added onto my debt..." That explained all the warning labels, and confirmed his suspicions of being illegal.

"Pray tell, why do you want to light these?"

"Well, I'd hate for them to go to waste... If you'd rather, I'm sure Tamaki would want-"she began before she had been cut off.

"No, no, it's not like I've anything better to do at this moment." He said firmly.

Haruhi gave him a friendly smile and proceeded to open the box, gently shaking it's contents onto the floor, kneeling beside them. Kyoya simply looked on before a thought occurred to him.

"Haruhi, you're eagerness is endearing, but don't you think we should be, I don't know, outside?"

Haruhi blinked then turned back to Kyoya. "I guess you're right," she said as she picked up the colorful packages. He sighed, following her out to the fountain.

"I got these as a freebie at the market," she said holding out a book of matches with a commoner supermarket's logo on it. As she set the fireworks up and lit the fuse, a thought crossed his mind.

"Haruhi," he started. "Why did you need help with this exactly?"

"Well, I wanted to have fun, but it's kind of hard to have fun on your own, you know? "Besides," She continued." This will make a good memory someday." As she finished saying that, the first one exploded into a shower of colors. Haruhi turned immediately, easily impressed by the light display, but Kyoya let his gaze linger a moment longer on the young host.

"That's an interesting notion, in it's own right." He thought, turning his gaze to the fireworks.
