We all know Episode 20 of Moon Lovers was heartbreaking. It was devastating, but I think I made my peace with it (not really). I know Korean dramas don't often renew for another season, so I thought why not write one? At this point, Moon Lovers fanfiction can only give me comfort. I hope you like it as well enjoying reading it!
Go Ha Jin
She was staring at his picture. His official portrait as the Fourth King of Goryeo. King Gwangjong. She stared the picture. To her, he was the Fourth Prince. Wang So. A broken man was abandoned by his mother and disliked by his brothers. He was loving, playful, and compassionate man. A man she loved. A man she yearned for.
She did not know how or why she can back to her present time. She regrets leaving his side. She could have been there. Been there to support him. His source of comfort. However, she knew if she continued to stayed there, she would grow to resent him.
She did not stay long not know. There are so many thoughts running through her head.
What if she stayed by his side?
Would he not feel alone?
The thought of him and her daughter alone broke her into tears. She bends down to her knees and continue to cry as she looked at the picture. She knew she changed history. He was remembered as a wise king.
I'm sorry for leaving you alone.
A man appeared by her side. She looked up and saw him. It was Choi Ji Mong. Of course, the person she saw a year ago before her accident. The astronomer who told her not to change history, and let nature takes its course. The same man who told Wang So had the star of a king,
"King Gwangjong, an interesting fellow. He ruled for so many years compared to the previous king" he said.
"Yes, a wise king" Ha Jin replied.
Ji Mong looked down at her and said, "Remember what I said? Things only return to their original place? Only fate can only tell".
He knew it wasn't dream. He was there in Goryeo as well, Fate this. Fate that. He was there by Wang So's side during his reign as king. He was there, witnessing their love story. He was there for everything.
What kind of crap is he saying now?
She stayed silent and returns looking at the picture. She continues to stare at his picture.
"Miss, are you okay?"
She looked up again and her eyes wide open. There he was. Bending down next to her.
Wang So?
"Are you okay?" He looked at her, not knowing how she would respond. She couldn't believe he was here. She looked over his portrait and looked at him. The man next to her.
Is this what Ji Mong meant? Will things go back to their original place?
If we had met in another world and at another time, I was thinking how great that would have been. If only that could be, I wouldn't fear anything. I could freely...truly, I could freely love you all I wanted.
