Explanation for Space Ship Defiance's Combat: (Dice Required, but the game side is completely optional if you just want to read the story)

Atk: How skilful the character or machine is at combat

LIFE: The character or machine's ability to take damage and still fight. If it hits zero, the character or machine dies.

Damage: How much damage is done to LIFE by the character or machine.

Armour: An extra way for a character or machine to avoid damage. If a character or machine takes damage, roll 1 die. If the number rolled is equal to or greater than the number next to Armour (Armour: 5), the character or machine takes half damage (rounding fractions down)

G: A currency to purchase upgrades for your characters and to recover their LIFE. Collected by defeating enemies. (Keep track of it)

Combat: Combat works in these steps:

Roll 2 dice for the enemy, add it's Atk to the roll, this is their attack strength.

Roll 2 dice for yourself, add your character's Atk to the roll, this is your attack strength.

Compare the two attack strengths. If your attack strength is higher, you have hit the enemy (go to step 4) If their attack strength is higher, they have hit you (Go to step 5) if both are the same, you have both avoided or parried eachother's attacks.

You have hit the enemy, so subtract your Damage from it's LIFE (If Damage says something like "2D6" It requires you to roll a certain number of dice to determine a random amount of damage, in this case, it's 2 dice). Remember, if the enemy has Armour, they can use this to try and half the damage taken.

The enemy has hit you, so subtract their Damage from your LIFE (If Damage says something like "2D6" It requires you to roll a certain number of dice to determine a random amount of damage, in this case, it's 2 dice)

Repeat the steps until one side has their LIFE hit 0, which means death (or destruction if it's a machine)

Fighting Multiple Enemies:

In Space Ship Defiance, you have 2 characters to control, and you might find yourself fighting less or more opponents. If they are just fighting one or two opponent, both of your characters take turns attacking it or fight one opponent each. If they are fighting more than 2 opponents, they are skilful enough to fight each enemy as a separate opponent, but you can choose who your opponents attack (Example, you could have 2 enemy soldiers go up against one character and have a single enemy soldier attack the other)

Upgrade areas:

You will come across these areas during the story, and they can be used to exchange G for more LIFE, Atk, Damage and Armour. However, Atk and Armour will be fixed to a certain level to make sure to balance out the game.
