"Wait, I thought her name was River Song?" Jesse frowned, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion. He was rubbing his temples, as if the show had given him a headache. "Why are they calling her Melody?"
Blaine sighed, taking his attention away from the television for a moment. He'd finally been able to convince Jesse to watch an episode of Doctor Who with him after weeks of begging. "Her name is River," he said, not taking his eyes away from the screen. Looking over at Jesse for a moment, he saw that the older boy was still confused. Sighing, he continued his explanation. "The Doctor knows her as River Song. But she's Amy and Rory's daughter, who they named Melody, after Amy's best friend. Get it?"
"But didn't Mels change into River?" Jesse's expression showed that he was even more lost than he had been before. "How do you watch this? I don't get it. At all." He shook his head, raising his eyebrows.
"She doesn't change into River," Blaine said, rolling his eyes. "She regenerates. Since she was conceived in the TARDIS, she's half Time Lord. That means she can regenrate. Got it?" Blaine shot Jesse a look that said 'just-say-yes-because-I'm-missing-the-show.'
True to form, Jesse shook his head and simply stated, "Nope. Not at all." Blaine rolled his eyes, and moved back into the couch, Jesse's grip around him tightening just a bit.
"So Blaine..." he began, his lips brushing lightly against Blaine's neck, something that he knew that drove the other boy crazy.
"Don't you dare try to distract me during Doctor Who," Blaine said, tone completely serious. "Or do you want Elena and I to pick out another punishment for you again?"
