"Watch your step." Joel advised, cautiously scaling the side of the building.
"Don't look down, don't look down." Ellie told herself quietly. The two of them safely reached the window, Joel entering first. The man was suddenly grabbed by a dark figure from behind. Instinctively, Joel drop-kicked his attacker, violently throwing him onto his backside and prepared to finish him off. Just as Joel threw two punches into the other man's gut, a young voice jolted him out of the maddening rage that was his only means of surviving.
"Stop! Don't kill him!"
Joel looked up to see a little girl, younger than Ellie, standing in the doorway, a gun pointed directly at him.
"It's okay, Clem." the attacker held a hand up.
"L-Lee...he almost killed you." the girl stammered.
Joel took a step back, "Well what do you expect when you're attacked."
The man named Lee got to his feet, "I have a little girl to protect here."
Ellie came up beside Joel, "Don't take it personal, dude. You can never be too careful these days."
"Look," Joel said firmly, "Just let us through."
"I wouldn't open that door if I were you." Lee warned.
"And why the hell not?" Joel furrowed his brow.
"Damn walkers." Lee growled, gesturing towards the open window. "That window may be our only way out."
Joel let out an agitated grunt, "Perfect."
"We know the way out." Ellie ignored Joel's annoyance, "Here, we'll show you."
"Ellie..." Joel tried to disregard her offer.
"We would appreciate it." Lee interrupted Joel. The two man exchanged a glance, unable to perceive if one another was a threat. When Joel looked to the little girl, he gave in. "Fine. Let's get a move on."
