Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or the franchise in any way.

Apparating was a feeling Draco never enjoyed. Usually he used alternate means of transportation but today that had not been possible. He had promised his wife he would be home by 6:30 for dinner and considering that he hadn't remembered this simple promise until 6:27 he knew his best chance of arriving on time and not angering his wife would be to apparate. Grumbling he entered the living room. In his annoyance he did not, at first, register the infamous red hair that could only mean one thing. No it took him another minute before he noticed his son and the red haired girl on the sofa.

"Son" he said "why exactly is there a Weasley in our living room?

While the Weasley/Malfoy/Potter feud had ended years ago it did not mean that he was particularly pleased to see the young girl.

"Draco" he heard his wife say, voice firm, "be polite."

"Darling I am simply inquiring as to why this young lady is in our home" he said innocently. Astoria had little patience when it came to pureblood ideals. In fact, Astoria and Draco raised Scorpius with the belief that everyone was equal. After the battle of Hogwarts, Draco had lost some of his pompous ideals and had tried to be a better person. His wife had helped greatly in that area.

"The kids wanted to tell us something so I invited them both over for dinner" Astoria tells him a smile lighting her face. She was always happy when Scorpius visited. He had graduated Hogwarts 3 years before and was busy with work quite often; still he visited when he could.

Draco smiled. If he was honest he too enjoyed when his son visited. Still he wasn't sure what news his son and the Weasley girl could have.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Weasley." He said holding out his hand "I am afraid I have forgotten your first name please forgive me."

"It's Rose" she says hesitantly taking his hand and shaking it. "It is nice to meet you too Mr. Malfoy"

"Please call me Draco."

His wife was right when she told him to give all people a chance. Despite her parentage Draco found himself liking the Weasley girl. She reminded him faintly of a young Astoria. They had the same quiet ways… that is until you started them talking. He smiled to himself as he watched Rose and his wife laughing at the other end of the table. He looked over and noticed that Scorpius was also noticed them.

Draco now had some idea what the news might be.

So when at the end of the night Scorpius told them that Rose was in fact his girlfriend of 2 years Draco only smiled at them down the table. He could see that his son was happy and that was enough for him.

A/N Thank you so much for reading! Sorry if the characters were OOC but I really wanted to write a story where Draco was a supportive father and look at how The Battle of Hogwarts and his marriage might have changed him. I hope you enjoyed.
