Okay, so when I heard that they were doing the song "Beth" on Glee, I was super excited! I knew the lyrics and instantly had a picture in my head of what it was going to be. At this time I didn't know that it was going to be in Theatricality not the finale, I didn't know that Finn was singing a verse in it, I didn't know that Puck wanted to be there…basically all knew was that Puck (Mark Salling) was going to be signing it to Quinn (Dianna Agron).

This is how I originally pictured it:

(New Directions discussing the "situation" (it being that since Quinn is gone giving birth, they had to use Jewfro Jacob as their 12th member)

(they are all visibly worried)

Mercedes: …Let's face it. We just can't win without Quinn here.

Rachel: Well… we still have to try.

Announcer: And now, New Directions will take the stage for the final performance of this years Regional Show Choir competition!

Rachel: *worried face* Let's go.

*cue the music*

"Beth, I hear you callin'
But I can't come home right now
Me and the boys are playin'"

Show a shot of Puck singing backstage at Regionals. Pan the room and show everyone else still getting ready to go on stage for the final song.

"And we just can't find the sound"

They are all singing horribly (yes, even Rachel) because they are all worried about Quinn.

"Just a few more hours
And I'll be right home to you"

Labor takes awhile, right? Show another shot of Puck sitting by himself singing and holding a cell phone. Zoom in to a text from Quinn saying something along the lines of "the baby's coming"

"I think I hear them callin'
Oh, Beth what can I do?
Beth what can I do?"

Show a scene of a curtain rising signaling that it's time for New Directions to take the stage for their final song.

"You say you feel so empty
That our house just ain't a home"

*flashback* Shot of Cheerio-Quinn sitting alone in her car depressed because she's "feeling fat". (yes, the fateful scene!)

"And I'm always somewhere else
And you're always there alone"

*still flashback* Close up of Puck knocking on the window holding up a 6-pack of wine coolers, smirking. Zoom out, just as Puck is getting in the car, so you can see Quinn's car is totally away from everything else, hence "alone".

"Just a few more hours
And I'll be right home to you"

Another shot of Puck sitting alone backstage just singing. You can tell he's about to cry.

"I think I hear them callin'
Oh, Beth what can I do?
Beth what can I do?"

*switch scenes to Quinn at the hospital* Doctors and nurses are frantically hurrying around Quinn, who's giving birth. You see the head nurse instructing Quinn to "push".

"Beth, I know you're lonely
And I hope you'll be alright
'Cause me and the boys will be playin'"

Shows Puck and New Directions walking on from backstage, preparing for the final song they have to sing.

"All night"

*cuts to a panoramic shot of Quinn's room in the hospital* The camera slowly zooms in and we see she is holding her baby girl and smiling.

— cut to commercial —
