Chapter 1: Kidnapping.
Luffy: 6,
Ace: 13

It's a simple day with nothing out of the ordinary, and Ace had promised to take Luffy to the park. So, today he sits at a park bench with a book as he lets Luffy play with his friends. Every few minutes he'll take a short glance upward to make sure Luffy's okay. It takes two hours for Luffy to finally come to Ace with a tired smile and tell him he's ready to go. Ace, of course, is already so used to this that all he can do is smile and take Luffy's hand.

It's on their way home that it happens.

Luffy is light on his feet and pointing out everything and anything he finds interesting to his brother, and Ace can only smile and listen. What he doesn't expect, however, is to find Luffy's grip tighten on his hand before it's forced to let go. Ace turns his head so fast he can almost hear his neck crack from the sudden action, and what he sees scares him out of his mind for a mere second before he forces his legs forward.

Luffy's being carried by a middle aged man- Ace can tell from seeing the grey hairs on his head-, the man's also wearing a black trench coat and a pair of sneakers. He runs after the man, but it's as if the other people on the street are making a pathway for the kidnapper while leaving Ace to shuffle his way past everyone.

His face darkens with anger, "What are you doing, he's kidnapping my brother!" He yells to the crowd who seem to ignore him. It's as if they don't even care what's happening in front of them, and they're not even trying to help.

'It's a child! Do something!'
'Don't just stare!'

Ace wants to yell, but he's too preoccupied in chasing the man- only to see the same man throw Luffy harshly into the car before getting in himself and slamming the door shut. The car speeds away just as Ace arrives.

He falls to his knees and grabs his head in horror.

Luffy is gone.

In the world today, most people will simply look the other way at a kidnapping.
