The music was soft and the lighting was low, but there was something that seemed so wrong with this situation. Was something still romantic if it had to be pre-planned Dirk wondered running a hand through his hair. The air was nice and warm and he'd run the bath earlier and added some of the bath salt that Duck liked, but still... He wanted to grimace at all this contrived, and really quite cheezy stuff. They hadn't had the chance to be spontaneous at all though so he wondered if it really was a good idea to do all this. It was perfect timing though because Weetzie and Her Secret Agent Lover Man had gone somewhere. A key in the lock interrupted Dirk's thoughts and he had that same fluttery warm feeling in his stomach that he had when they'd first met.
He felt something completely different when he saw the look in Duck's eyes, pure and shining love. Even if it was ridiculously cheezy, he didn't care. He knew that whatever made them both happy was nothing to be ashamed of.
