New Feelings
She couldn't recall when she first began to notice the change. It seemed to come as suddenly as the first winter chill. A feeling that creeps up until you finally can't ignore it. But she began to find herself staring at him more than what she knew was necessary.
He wasn't particularly handsome or smart, or anything, really. In fact, she would even go so far as to call him…average. Sure, his light brown hair would often fall into his face, causing her to want to push it behind his ears just to be able to touch his smooth locks. And yes, when ever he laughed, the scars on his face seemed less noticeable due to the bright sparkle of his eyes. But really, in all honesty, she couldn't claim him to be in any way remarkable.
And yet, he appeared to have this mysterious side; a secret that deeply intrigued her. She occasionally spied him sitting alone, though she would deny it if asked, a contemplative look upon his face. And, that one time, when he caught her listening in on a conversation he was having, she could have sworn that there where tears in his eyes. What could make such a man cry?
Then there was the stuttering. She was never one to not have something to say. But, when ever he asked her a question, her face would heat up and her voice squeak. Others might find this humorous, but not her. This was in no way normal. And no matter how much meditation she did before meeting him, his mere presence just made her nervous.
She was a grown witch; accomplished, for Merlin's sake. No teenaged ninny. But, there was no denying this feeling. She, Nymphadora Tonks, was in love with Remus Lupin.
