Disclaimer: I, Artsysmiles, do not own Naruto or a normal sleep patern. It is currently 2:28 a.m. and I am wide awake. Creepy, huh? That is all.

Another oneshot. Please, people, don't ask me when I'm going to update Celestail Maiden cause the chapter's almost done. The others, not so much.

This is a songfic. Everything in it I don't own.

Itachi walked down the darkened hallway, a scowl on his face. All trace of happiness was gone; he received no joy from causing others pain. Sasuke had settled down, had three kids, and no longer tried to kill him.

The Akatsuki had long since disbanded, ever since Pein's death. Kiasme was gone, locked up in jail. From what he knew, he was the only Akatsuki member fairing well.

And more importantly, she wasn't here.

I hate feeling like this

I'm so tired of trying to fight this

I'm asleep and all I dream of

His footsteps echoed, bouncing off the stone walls. He had a specific destination in mind.

"Hn," he growled out, not expecting an answer. And not receiving one. "She's here."

Is waking to you

Tell me that you will listen

Your touch is what I'm missing

And the more I hide I realize I'm slowly losing you

Itachi paused at the rotting door. He could sense her chakra from the other side of the wall.

His scowl faded slightly, and the ghost of a smile graced his face.

Comatose

I'll never wake up without an overdose of you

He grasped the door knob harshly, though his demeanor said otherwise, and slowly opened the door. His Sharingan eyes scanned the room until they landed on a body.

Her body.

The scowl dissapeared completely and was replaced with a smirk. His happiness had returned, if not briefly.

"Hi."

I don't wanna live

I don't wanna breathe

'les I feel you next to me

You take the pain I feel

Waking up to you never felt so real

I don't wanna sleep

I don't wanna dream

'cause my dreams don't comfort me

The way you make me feel

Waking up to you never felt so real

"Hey," whispered Itachi as the woman before him molded into his embrace. "You're back." She nodded, wrapping her arms around him.

"I missed you," she sighed.

"And I you," replied the Uchiha. His smirk softened as he felt her bury her head into his neck. "And I you," he repeated.

I hate living without you

Dead wrong to ever doubt you

But my demons lay in waiting

Tempting me away

Oh how I adore you

Oh how I thirst for you

Oh how I need you

Itachi gazed at the sleeping female beside him. A hand was intertwinded with his own, causing his icy heart to warm abit.

"Mmm. Itachi?" mumbled the woman. Crimson eyes went to her face, just staring, never once wavering. "I don't want to go back there. At least, not without you," she said.

Hearing this, Itachi looked away and removed his hand.

Breathing life

"I know." Her eyes stared up at him, taking in all his perfections and faults, never once leaving him. "But you have a life there."

"Yes. But I also have a life here." She smiled lovingly at him, and he matched it with a peaceful scowl.

Waking up My eyes

Open up

"I'm not going to stay in the dark with you, Itachi," she said firmly. "I love you. And there is nothing you can do to change that."

Itachi smiled, a true, happy smile.

"I know," he murmured, leaning in to kiss her jaw line. The woman shivered at the display of affection, sending Itachi onto her lips.

"I'll never leave you," she breathed. "I love you, Itachi."

Don't leave me alone

"As I love you, Sakura."

I guess you kinda could see that coming. But if not, let me know. Kinda angsty, you think? I was listening to really depressing rock music, so...yeah. This took a full half hour to write, so I expect some reviews. Or flames. Either or.
