Ah, another Weasley. Well, I know just what to do with you- wait what is this…

Those were the words that the sorting hat told her before the red head's excitement fell. Isn't it amazing how fear can murder excitement in an instant? The youngest of the Weasley clan has been waiting for this moment for years! Her excitement ran through her veins as she counted down the days until it was her time to shine at Hogwarts. Year after year, Ginny Weasley watched all of her brother leave after the summer to go get their education in the magic of a castle far away, and the witch couldn't wait until it was her time.

You may be the only Weasley worthy enough to be in Slytherin

Fear. It consumes you in a second and in that moment, Ginny Weasley could not breathe. The dementor took away all happy thoughts, as she felt cold on the stool with the ridiculous hat on top of her fiery red hair. All eyes were on Ginny as the hat was debating on where to sort her.

Her heartbeat was racing as she tried to convince the hat not to sort her into Slytherin. The hat finally gave up the fight as it called out:

"GRYFFINDOR!"

Ginny had often thought about that day where fear consumed her. She wondered why the Sorting Hat wanted to put her into Slytherin. It bothered her because the red head never felt she could do great things through her ambitions or cunning ways. She wanted adventures and the value of courage. Green was not her color and snakes were not her animal. The witch believed she was a lion through and through.

It hit her one-day why the Sorting Hat wanted her in Slytherin. The answer was so obvious that it blew her mind when she thought of it.

Tom Riddle had already started possessing her.
