The walk home was long and quiet, however not boring, not terrible, though was quite nice. Most of their walk's home together was energetic, boisterous, and amusing. Though, today's was different, but good different.

Wally and Kuki were walking home from school as usual from everyday. After of 10 minutes of walking, they would make it Kuki's house- say goodbye, and leave to part their ways.

Wally hadn't really thought of it before- though what if he did more than say goodbye. What if he did something different; instead of walking her to her driveway- how about to her door? Perhaps give her a friendly handshake, or would that just be dim-witted. What if he gave her a high- five? No, he had it.

Kuki all the way to her home knew something was going on in Wally's head. The walk between them wasn't necessarily awkward to her, just different. It was just nice to spend time with him. She didn't care if they talked or not, as long as she had him to enjoy the walk home with her. Today, she noticed that there were leaves blowing all around the sidewalk, as if making a pathway for them. The rustling of the leaves soothed her soul, though exhilarated her hormones.

She wanted to hold hands with Wally, badly. Though if she were, what would he do? Without further thought, Kuki slithered her small palm into his larger one, moving closer to his side as well. She didn't bother looking at him- she knew what his reaction was already. An awkward blush with a frown, though she was wrong- it was an awkward blush with a big grin cornered on his jaw.

They continued to walk without a word. Now, it was awkward. That is until they reached Kuki's house. Instead of breaking apart at her driveway, he led her to her front door on the porch. They broke apart and finally met hazel to emerald, porcelain to tan, crimson to crimson.

"Bye Kuki," Wally finally spoke at the end of their journey, "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bye Wally," Kuki responded still red in the cheek, "sorry that I---"

"No Kooks," Wally interrupted, "don't be sorry. If anyone should be sorry- it's me."

"What do you mean?" Kuki said puzzled, only to get her question answered through action. A pair of thin lips met their way to her plump, round ones. The bond was sparked with ignition, light as feather, radiant and captivating as a meteor shower. The tie was broken in a few second, though remembered for a lifetime.

"That was nice." Kuki murmured with a soft smile.

"Yeah, it was." Wally replied, smiling as well. "I guess I'll walk you home tomorrow, bye." Wally said while slowly turning around.

"Hey Wally," Kuki called off to him, "walk me on the way to school as well.
