I couldn't bring myself to let go of him. I knew it was irrational, and that it would most likely kill me, but I couldn't realise him into the water.

With all the strength I possessed, I hauled him up onto the wood that I was lying on. At that moment, I saw the boat. It was a rescue boat from the Titanic; come to save me. I wouldn't die today. Not yet.

"Can anyone hear me? Is anyone alive?"

How I wanted to shout, to scream that I was alive, scream for help, for anything. But I couldn't. My voice was just a whisper, a rasp of what it should have been.

When their light lingered on my face, I blinked, it was the only movement that I could make, that I prayed would save me, save jack.

"Oi! We have one! She's alive, bring her about!"

The boat turned towards me, to save me. When they got to me, a man lent over the side, and grabbed me. He was talking to me, at me; trying to convince me to let go of Jack.

I couldn't do it. Even if I had been able to move my hands, I wouldn't have been able to bring myself to let him go. Because I had promised.

Promised to never let go.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I woke up in a bright room; a room that was not my own; one that I had never been in before.

I looked around, and to my delight, Jack was beside me. Breathing. He was alive. I was alive.

A nurse walked in to the room, and smiled at me.

"Good! You're awake; we were getting worried about you, miss...?"

"Miss. DeW- Miss. Dawson. Sorry."

"Thats quite alright, Miss. Dawson. You should try to get some sleep, you and your friend had it pretty hard, its remarkable that he survived. He was practically frozen. I'll check in on you later."

"Thank you! Um, excuse me, ma'am, could you please tell me the date?"

"Of course miss. Its April 18th, you were out for three days. Jack here woke up yesterday. He's still very sick though...one of the worst cases of hypothermia we've ever seen...it was a miracle when he woke up. You were both very fortunate."
