Hey guys! Sorry for the long wait in getting something new out; I had no inspiration for the longest time. I wouldn't say this is my best, but I think it's still... passable?

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Snap.

Thalia's head snapped up as she sifted the hillside for the offending noise. Her piercing blue eyes swept the trees and the grass thoroughly before she lowered her head, though her muscles remained tense. She shivered in the chill.

Snap.

Thalia huffed in annoyance as she stood up, posture erect as she picked through her small hideout into the open woods. She saw a small flash of blonde, but it disappeared just as quickly as it came.

She blinked. "Jason?" She narrowed her eyes at the spot, as if she could make the blonde reappear. Nothing came. Stupid of you, really. She chided herself, Jason is dead. That woman said so. Her mouth twisted in disgust as she thought of her mother.

Just a squirrel. Or a bird, she thought, irritated. "Stupid, stupid, stupid," she muttered aloud, casting her eyes up at the sky and giving it a glare as she silently directed her chant to her father above.

She picked her way back into the middle of her stakeout, and sat in the middle, warming her hands. Her posture relaxed, but her eyes still examined her surroundings, and her hand rested easily on the handle of her spear, just in case she was mistaken about the squirrel. Hours passed, but the suspicious sound did not return. She became hungry, so she stood up, gripping her spear, ready to hunt.

She stalked the woods like a stealthy panther, not making a sound. Her weary, but vigilant eyes took in the domain as she searched for animals she could catch.

Snap.

She froze mid-step. Her spear flew up and she slowly backed away. Suddenly, she saw the flash of blonde she saw before. She took into action, taking off after the mysterious color. As she drew closer and closer, she realized that the blonde belonged to the head of a tall boy. All of a sudden, he whipped around and lashed out with a blade.

Instinctively, she raised her spear to parry his blow, cataloguing his weapon. Celestial bronze knife. Thalia narrowed her eyes at the boy. Monster... or demigod?

The boy's face was scratched up, and he seemed tired and withdrawn, but the intelligence and cunning in his sky blue eyes was unmistakable. His eyebrows were arched naturally, giving him a mischievous look. His body was lean and fit, and his reaction time was quick as he deflected her blows with the knife.

His skill was probably better than hers, but while she was rested, he appeared not to be. She gradually forced his back to a tree, disarmed him, and then placed her blade next to his neck.

He was quite handsome, she supposed, but now wasn't the time.

"Why were you following me?" Thalia asked harshly.

"I wasn't," he panted, "I saw fire and so obviously I went towards it." He coughed.

"You're a demigod," Thalia noted, her electric blue eyes searching his for confirmation. He blinked in response.

Thalia breathed in roughly, then stepped back, letting her spear dangle by her side. The mysterious blonde demigod stepped away from the tree, panting, before straightening up to look her in the eye. They scrutinized each other for a few moments, before Thalia broke the silence.

"Who are you?"

"Me?" The boy grinned charmingly. "I'm Luke. Luke Castellan."

And so their story began.

How was it? :) I'd love to have some feedback!
