Topsy was feeling really lonely; he had nobody to play with. His sisters were busy and his brother has been dead for a few days. Theresa noticed her son's sad expression and bent down to the 6 year old's level.

"Awww; things will get better dear; you still have me," Theresa replied.

Topsy looked over at his mom and nuzzled her.

"I love you Mom; Happy Mother's Day," Topsy said.

Theresa smiled wide.

"Why thank you Topsy; I feel so special," Theresa responded.

Suddenly, a couple of mean kids came by and started teasing.

"Look Jerry; it's Topsy, the Mama's Boy," the clubtail teased.

"Yeah Ace; he's probably still crying over his brother's death; he should have died instead of Trike; what a fat, stupid loser," Jerry sneered.

Topsy looked over at the clubtail and threehorn and growled.

"Would you two idiots beat it!" Topsy snarled.

"Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh; Is that the best you can do?" Jerry and Ace teased in unison.

Theresa stared down at the troublemakers.

"I think you two better leave us alone," Theresa warned.

"Oh yes; wouldn't want to upset the baby any more than he already is," Jerry smirked.

Topsy went to charge at Jerry; but, Theresa stopped him.

The two boys ran off with one last remark.

"See you Patsy," Jerry and Ace sneered in unison.

"IT'S TOPSY! IDIOTS!" Topsy roared.

Theresa chuckled.

"I'm not fat or stupid; am I?" Topsy asked.

"Of course not Topsy; you're just a growing boy who needs more food; those boys are just small for their age," Theresa said, still laughing.

Topsy smiled; he loved spending time with his mom. They would have plenty more moments together as mother and son.

Those boys in the story called Topsy by a girls name with the intention of teasing him. Jerry (threehorn with green skin and reddish brown eyes) and Ace (clubtail with orange skin and brown eyes). Another one-shot.
