My Everything
Beckett sat on the couch, knees clutching to her chest with her eye sight focused on the door. She hadn't moved for hours. She stared blankly at the door waiting for him to return. The tears had finished falling now but she knew they would come flooding back when he returned home. Sure she was upset, but the thoughts that mainly plaque her mind was how he was to react. This is everything he could have ever wanted, and she couldn't give it to him. She was going to let him down and he was never going to forgive her.
"I'm home" cheered Castle as he walked into the loft with a huge smile on his face. His normal preppy attitude evident. However his mood immediately changed as he saw Kate curled on the couch with glassy eyes. He quickly tossed his jacket off as he made his way over to comfort her.
"Kate, what's wrong?"
Beckett didn't speak but openly began sobbed once again. He sat down next to her and brought her close into his chest. He held her as the tears flowed down her face. She was overwhelmed and he just wanted to make the pain go away.
"I got a phone call earlier" started Beckett as she felt herself start to calm down. She took a few hazy breaths before continuing. "It was the doctor."
Castle listened intently as he began to piece the puzzle together. He began to gently stroke her hair as a sign for her to continue.
"I can't have children."
He would be lying if he said the statement didn't hit him like a tonne of bricks. Beckett began to sob into his chest again as she was once again overcome with too many emotions to comprehend. Castle held her as close as humanly possible as he felt him own eyes become glassy.
He could fell part of his heart break. Not for himself, but for the love of his life who was inconsolable before him. He wanted to fix this for her. But this was one of the things in life he had no control over. And the one thing he couldn't fix, no matter how hard he would try.
But right now she needed him. She needed him to be her rock. Her solid ground.
"You probably hate me right now."
"I'm not capable of feeling anything but love for you" he reminded her.
"But I can't give you what you truly want" Beckett spoke softly as she avoided his gaze.
"Did I want you to carry my child, absolutely" he told her as he lifted her chin so her eyes would meet his. "But nothing else matters in this life but being with you. You are my everything Kate.
A slight smile crept onto her face as she felt the undying love the man before her expressed.
"I just want you. Always."
