There it was. It was huge. Sadie had never been on a boat this big before, ship rather. She had heard many people say it was unsinkable. But how could something this big even float? Through the eyes of a five year old, it couldn't. She knew as she stepped on with her mother and father, something wasn't right.

Sadie looked and was amazed at the extravagance of everything. There were enormous bouquets on the tables in the dining room. The luxurious covers on her bed, it looked like something fit for a queen. A princess maybe, but something still told her, this much weight couldn't possibly float. So that's what it took, a grown man couldn't see it but a small girl could? That was something truly amazing.

The next morning, Sadie was the happiest girl alive, for she had the best bed to sleep on, the faint sound of the ocean, and the suddle rocking of the ship as she went to sleep. She went and explored the rest of the ship. She could see in the window of the captain's room. She went down to the storage room. (even though she knew she wasn't supposed to) She saw the ballroom where she would go with her mother and father that night to go dancing. Only first class people were aloud in the ballroom without an invitation. This also applied to the dining room. Each class had their own dining and ballroom. She couldn't wait to get all dressed up to go to the ladies ball that night.

Finally the time had come for the ball. Sadie had her mother curl her usually straight and boring hair. She had new ribbons in her hair and she had what she thought was the beautiful dress ever made! It was pale pink with lace and jewels all over it. On her way down to the dining room where they would meet with her friend Ceceila and her guardian on her trip Madame Cle'am Sadie saw something very peculiar. A girl standing on the back of the ship who looked like she was about to jump off. The only thing holding her back was a boy of about 16 or 17. They must be in love thought Sadie, who didn't know what suicide was.

After the ball Sadie was the most tired little girl you've ever seen. She had run around, did the father daughter dance, and drank about 3 glasses of red punch. That night though, she dreamed about something horrible, the ship, the ship was sinking in her dream! In her dream she heard gunshots, women's screams, children's screams, it was pure horror. Right as she thought she was about to go down in her dream, she felt something, something wet in the floor. I must have fallen out of bed, she thought, for she was in the floor. Little did she know, her nightmare would soon become reality.
