Summary: Jack finally beats his Insomnia with a little help.

He still hadn't grown used to the insomnia, which was the worst part about living on the island. The lack of sleep was killing him. Jack remained shocked that he was living off of less than 3 hours of sleep each night.
As he looked around the cave he felt suddenly jealous of the silent souls around him. Each in a deep sleep most likely dreaming of comfort and peace. What he wouldn't give to be them right now.
How could they find a way to sleep during a time like this? They all had things that when thought of gave them complete serenity and helped them drift away from this place. Why couldn't he have something like that? Charlie had his music and Claire had her thoughts of motherhood. He had nothing, nothing that gave him comfort.
The fire cracked as he rolled over again. His eyelids felt heavy, but would not give in. If he didn't sleep he wouldn't be able to do anything tomorrow, and so much needed to be done. He couldn't afford this hell.
Find your happy place, he said to himself with a laugh. Anything to catch a few hours of sleep. Happy place, he repeated. Peace, calm thoughts.
The image that came into his mind surprised him. Kate. He had been expecting to think of the ocean, or snow, but Kate?
Now his minds wandered around the thought of her. Her gorgeous long, black hair. Her exotic look, and those mysterious eyes. This was having the opposite effect on him. It was stirring his senses. Making him more awake than he wanted. He could suddenly hear her sweet, soothing voice telling him he needed to sleep.
He didn't even realize that he wasn't imagining her voice. She had sunk down next to him and slide under his blanket. "Jack are you still having trouble sleeping?" she whispered.
He turned to her upon realization and placed his hand on her cheek, rubbing his thumb over her lips. He had never been this tired before, making him half unaware of what he was doing. Jack moved slightly and softly kissed her.
He noticed her smile as she pulled back, "Just sleep."
He obeyed, letting her voice and soft hands send him into a deeper sleep than he had ever experienced. She moved her hand up and down his arm until he was so far gone, she herself drifted away.
The dreams came and he hoped they would never leave. Dreams of Kate filled him and made him never want to wake up.
