It's been years since we first met... And well, it's been way too many levels. I remember you were my level, even more. I found it too difficult to level, but with you- it was a breeze. You always teased me about my disability, I was always a slow leveler. It wasn't fun to level.
But hell, you knew I was an explorer. I had visited every continent out there, from Maple Island to Leafre to Malaysia. I loved to see new and exciting places I missed on the trip before.
I hope you're okay. You're already level 111. I'm only level 70, but I'm dreading the job advancement. Defeating dark Athena was a snap, although those Taurospears and Tauromacis were a snap. I slowly trudge in the snow of El Nath, keeping warm with Unagis and Red Bean Soup. My new Blue Patriot was tight around my head. I admit that I missed my old hat more.
My fingers tightened over the sleek handle of my Bow of Magical Destruction, and I dispatched of some White Pangs on the way to the cave. I jumped off the cliff with grace, and land nimbly on my feet. And then, I went into the cave.
I felt numb. I had to be calm. If I got these questions wrong... I don't want to find out. I adjusted my hat over my brown hair, shifted in my Sauna Robe and approached the giant slab of stone. Ebony stone, in fact. I placed my necklace to the smooth front, and I was suddenly blown back. The next few minutes are a blur to me. The questions didn't matter, but I was done with them soon enough.
I picked myself up, fallen bow and all, and began to trudge out of the cavern, clutching the necklace in my hand. My hair was blown by the frosty winds, and my sauna robe did nothing to really protect me. As soon as I was out of the cave, I spared myself the frostbite and used a return scroll back to town. And there I was, back in front of the Third Job Instructors' house.
I quietly opened the door, getting curt nods from the men. Silently walking up the stairs, I was faced by two women. One wore a yellow robe and had pink hair being exposed from under the hood, face masked by the shadow. The other, my job instructor Rene, had a pinkish-red robe and a yellow braid coming out from under the hood. A bow was slung across her back, and her face was also hidden. I approached her quietly, giving a short bow.
Eventually, we finished conversing, and I felt a rush of power. It was exhilarating. I felt more wise, my eyes were sharper, and my reflexes definitely had improved. I received a tome from Rene, much larger than the First and Second Job Advancement skill books, this was large. I bowed to her once again, and walked out of the house. With the book in my lap, I sat down on the stairs in front of the instructors' house and began to read. A shadow fell over me, but I ignored them- they were probably some jerk Assassin trying to become a Hermit.
"I told you. I wouldn't miss it," the voice spoke.
My eyes widened and I glanced up, a smile breaking across my face as I instantly knew who it was.
"... Thanks buddy," I responded after some time.
"No problem," he smiled, "And of course, congratulations on Ranger."
Maybe things aren't same as always sometimes...
