The sun carefully sets in the horizon, as death creeps in the dark shadows. He follows the sound of the angelic melody that caresses his ears. As he gets closer, he sees light. He then notices who it's coming from. It's life. She is sat by the small pond, with animals surrounding her. Her laugh rings through his ears. He finds himself mesmerized. He makes himself known by accidentally stepping on a twig. She turns her head gracefully to be met with his eyes. The animals who were once surrounding her, are now hidden by the bushes with fear engulfing them. As for her, she is not frightened. Nor is she nervous or intimidated.

"Aren't you scared?" He questioned.

"I'm happy," she replied. As she looked at him, A gentle smile made its way to her face.

"Why?" He found himself asking once again.

"Because,...I have finally met you." They were met with silence. No one uttered a word. It wasn't awkward. It wasn't comfortable either. It was different.

"Let's talk", she said, breaking the silence. He nodded and sat by her.

"I have a question," she began, "Why do people love me, but hate you?", she finished. He was silent for a moment.

"Because you are a beautiful lie, and I'm a painful truth", death responded. Her eyes were fixed on him. She was now more focused on the mask that is covering his face, than his answer. He was puzzled by her intense stare.

"May I take off that mask?" She politely asked. She was then answered with a slight nod. She gently took the mask off. Surprise overtook her,by his exposed face. It was beautiful. She placed her hands on his cheek, and started caressing it. It felt soft and delicate.

"You are so beautiful," she breathed.

"So are you," he responded. She was surprised when his lips kissed hers. She then gave in to it. The kiss was bitter, but yet sweet. It was a rather odd combination.

They weren't beautiful together, but they were. It's something no one understood. She was a delicate flower who was yet to break. He was the Icy cold fingers that can kill that delicate flower by just one touch. He can't help it. It doesn't please him when he sees her body collapse into his arms.

She thought him how to feel. One thing he never thought he could do. The moment they had spent together was enough to make him smile. The frightened animals came out of their hiding and saw the lifeless body in which is held in death's arms. They were saddened by the scene, but happy to finally see death smiling. The two weren't beautiful. They weren't ugly either. They were intimate.
