SPOILER WARNING: Don't read if you haven't finished watching season 2

It Was Right

Very few people knew the real Tony Stonem. Most people saw the self assured boy winking at the mirror. Others saw the manipulative social dictator who seemed to enjoy destroying the lives of his friends.

Michelle had been one of those people. She'd only seen Tony the way people said he was, the easiest way to. She only heard what he said, not what he couldn't. It wasn't the accident that had made her realise the truth, who Tony really was. She'd figured it out for herself before then, she'd just been too scared of what that meant to acknowledge it.

Tony Stonem was just a lost little boy stuck in a world he thought he needed to conquer. Tony couldn't just live, that hadn't been who he was. Tony needed someone to live for him, someone to show him that he didn't need to be scared about losing; he needed to live for himself, not for what others saw.

When Tony had cheated on her, Michelle had given up, on him, on herself, on love. She was tired of waiting for him to see that she was it, the one who would always be there for him; she was tired of waiting for him to love her back. She hadn't known then, but he did love her, and he needed her more than ever. But she'd turned her back and then the accident had happened, and Tony had lost everything and she couldn't do a thing to bring it back.

But they'd survived. Through everything; getting his memory back, through the mistakes she made with Sid, through Chris' death. They'd survived. Because it was right, him and her, Tony and Michelle, it was just right.

AN: Thanks for reading. I love this coupling a lot and will be writing a mini story about them set after Skins season 2. Chapter 1 should be up sometime this week
