AN: Again I wrote this ages ago. In fact it was one of the first things I ever wrote. Short and sweet. Happy birthday NotThatAmanda!

Marry Me?

It had finally come down to it. They had saved the world from shop window dummies, Slitheen, Daleks, Sycorax, Krillitanes, Cyberman, and the Beast himself, and during it all the Doctor had came away even more amazingly in love with Rose Tyler.

There were a thousand things he loved about her. Her smile, the way her eyes lit up when they landed on a new planet, the way she fell asleep in his arms, the way she kissed, he loved everything about her.

So, he decided to ask her the most important question he would ever ask her. He just hadn't found the right time.

He was going to take her on a nice romantic evening to Paris, and at the end of the evening he was going to ask her.

But as she lay on his bed, which had become their bed a couple months ago, she looked so perfect that he got a crazy idea.

He got up from the bed quietly so she wouldn't know he'd left and crept onto the library. There he went to his cluttered desk and opened the top dower. He pulled out a small black velvet box and opened the lid. Inside laid the most beautiful ring he had ever seen.

It was a thin silver band on which was set a small clear stone, which caught the tiniest bit of light and set a fire of colors off in stone. He smiled closed the box, and crept back into their bedroom.

Rose was lying on her back with the duvet pulled down to her waist. She looked like an angel laying there in her pink tank top.

The Doctor sat on the edge of the bed and opened the box. Taking the ring out he placed it on her chest. He then laid back and pretended to be asleep.

It was several minutes until Rose woke up to find the dazzling ring resting on her chest. She sat up and held it in her hand, awed by the beauty of it.

"But where…" she mumbled to herself.

She turned around and found the Doctor looking at her.

"You" she said "But why?"

He sat up looked at her with his dark eyes.

"Because, will you marry me?" he asked, a quiver in his voice.

Rose gasped. She had never expected to hear those words out of the Doctor's mouth. For just a moment she didn't know what to say, but just a moment.

"Yes" she said laughing and crying at the same time.

The Doctor smiled one of his bigger than life smiles and she jumped into his arms. Their lips found each other and they kissed, showing their love for each other. They pulled apart and Rose curled into the Doctor's side. He took the ring from her and slipped it onto her finger.

Rose held it up, watching as it caught the tiny bit of light in the room and created a rainbow in the stone.

"That's beautiful." She said "What is it"

"It's called a Rainbow Diamond." He told her. "There very rare. There made when stars go supernova. Bit's of sand and rock fuse together in the heat and tiny prisms that capture the tiniest bit of light and make a rainbow of shorts in the gem."

"Why this ring?" she asked.

"Because it reminds me of you. Catching the tiniest of light and making a rainbow out of it" he answered her, the pride coming though his voice.

"Rose Tyler, I love you."

"I love you, Doctor."
