This takes place right after the kiss in the Common Room, when Harry and Ginny go outside for a little privacy in HBP. And in this stolen moment out of HBP nothing else intrudes on the new couple except for what's going on between them. So please do not complain that i completely shut out the outside world made up of Voldemort and desperate circumstances. This is all about Harry and Ginny and the fluffy moment in their life.

"So."

"So."

"This is sort of awkward."

Harry tucked his hands into his trouser pockets. "Yeah."

Ginny smiled but she didn't think the moonlight was sufficient enough for the boy next to her to see. "It wasn't an accident was it?"

"I, no." Harry wandered to the edge of the lake and tried to get his thoughts straight. He had just kissed Ginny Weasley, his best friend's sister, and not only had Ron not cursed him on the spot, he had given them his nod of approval. "Definitely not an accident."

Ginny walked forward and stood at Harry's side, gazing out towards the lake. "That's… That's a relief. It would be embarrassing to go back and have you tell everyone it was a spur of the moment sort of thing. Glad that I won the cup and everything."

Harry turned and looked down at her seriously. "I'd never do that."

"Honorable Harry." Ginny chuckled. "Of course not." She turned and met his eyes fearlessly. "I'm glad."

Harry expelled a breath loudly in relief. "Me too. It's good to finally get it out."

"Get it out?" Ginny repeated questioningly. "Have you been holding it in long, then?"

"A while." answered Harry nonchalantly.

"Now this is interesting. Do tell."

Harry blushed and looked away. "Nothing to tell. I just realized that I don't feel very brotherly towards you."

"That is definitely good to hear. You have no idea how good." Ginny smiled and waited patiently until Harry turned back and met her gaze. "I've been waiting a long time to hear that."

Harry raised an eyebrow questioningly. "I thought you gave up on me."

"Some part of me did." She shrugged. "And some part of me didn't." Ginny paused in mid-smile. "Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why now? Why the interest all of a sudden?" Ginny's eyes narrowed up at Harry. "And don't you dare tell me it's because some people consider me pretty now."

"No." For the first time that night since the kiss in the common room, Harry's vivid green eyes smiled down at her. "Your laugh. Your jokes." he fingered a lock of her fiery, red hair, "Your temper."

Ginny chuckled. "My temper? Now there's one I haven't heard before."

"It's attractive to see you red-faced and screeching."

"You're lying." Ginny tickled Harry's side playfully. "Definitely lying. Through your teeth lying."

In defense against the tickling, Harry captured Ginny's arms at her sides. "I don't lie."

"Much." quipped Ginny.

"Much." agreed Harry, smiling.

In the scarce moonlight, Ginny could barely see the outlines of Harry's face, but what she did see made her feel short of breath. "Are you going to kiss me now?" she whispered.

"Yes."

"Not lying are you, Potter?"

Harry's grin widened, and releasing her arms, he tipped her chin up with one hand. "No, and I'll prove it."

Five minutes later, when Ginny could breathe again, she was 100 sure he had been telling the truth.
