Max POV

Dylan backed me against the wall as I struggled to release his grip. It just became tighter as he bit down my neck and on my ear.

"We can go to my place."

"Never in a million years." I got angrier and that's when he sliced my side. I kept hitting and kicking anyways untilI saw a black figure come through the ally. Fang!

Fang POV

I was walking in the outdoor mall when I heard two voices. "We can go back to my place," and "Never." It only took me a moment to realize that it was Dylan and… Max! I ran down the alley and tackled Dylan I threw punches to his face and when he tried to defend himself, I kneed him right in the crotch.

Max POV

Fang came up and Dylan had his hand up in a fist when Fang kneed him in his… unmentionables. He fell to the floor and Fang kicked him in the stomach.

"It'll be much worse next time." Fang pulled me to him bridal style and I winced as he flew into the sky. Yes he flew into the sky. (Only our flock and Dylan, (who we deserted for jerkiness) had wings. Our flock consisted of my siblings Iggy, who is 13, and Angel, who is 8. Then there were Fang's siblings, Nudge, who is 11, and Gazzy, who is 9. We had escaped the school together and decided to combine our families) He held my literally ripped ear as I winced in pain from that and the gash in my side.

"Just let me look." He further inspected me ear, my bitten and bruised neck and worst of all, my side. "That jerk literally cut you in half and bit your ear open! This is my entire fault. I shouldn't have left you…" I stopped him by pressing my lips against his.

"None of this is your fault." I held my hand on his cheek. "All you need to do is take me home." Our home was a three bedroom apartment. The kids lived with my mom in Arizona while we lived in Nevada. He carried me all the way there and even bandaged my "Dylan wounds."

Fang POV

I carried Max into the bathroom and set her down on the counter. She wimpered as I bandaged her ear and side. She held onto my shirt tight when I took her to her bedroom. I set her in bed and she slowly grasped my hand. "I love you and I want you to know that I will always love you."

"I love you too baby. Now get some sleep." I lightly kissed her forehead and watched her fall asleep in my arms.
