Morning. A gentle warm breeze flew through the trees, lightly rustling the trees.
"What am I supposed to do?"
"You'll find a way. I know it!"
Sunlight trickled through tree branches, dancing along the bottom of the forest floor. Young ferns drank in the sunlight, a lively bright green.
"But . . . what if I don't?"
"You're a natural, Jayfeather. Why wouldn't you find a way?"
Suddenly, the breeze stopped.
". . . Jayfeather?"
"Others have died in my paws before. It's likely that they will again."
"Come on, have a little more faith in yourself! I believe in you!"
For seconds, the forest seemed to have froze, stuck within time.
"It's not looking good. She's getting worse every day. Maybe I missed something . . . a sign from StarClan to tell me that this was going to happen-"
"Jayfeather."
"Hm?"
As if for making up for it's sudden disappearance, the wind came back with force, rustling everything, but quickly became gentle once more.
". . . w-what was that?"
"I told you I had faith in you, Jayfeather. That was some reassurance."
"Ha, reassurance, huh?"
"Hey, don't make that face! You're making me all flustered!"
"Really? That's funny~"
"Oh, shush!"
A flower danced in the wind, glowing from the sunlight. It landed softly between two sets of grey paws.
"Hey Cinderheart. . ."
"Hm?"
"Thank you."

Sorry, no declarations of love or anything, but I imagine that JayXCinder is a sweet kind of love, one that doesn't require an outright confession, or forbidden kits, or anything. I imagine that they just really love being together, and that their love could be so strong, that they wouldn't need to mate to feel complete. Just be . . . well, themselves. :3
