(A/N: Just a quick 500-word drabble! I hope you guys like it, and be sure to R&R!)
A Trainer was walking along, confident in her stride. Her name was May, and she was the Champion of Hoenn. She had a brilliant team, with every Pokémon chosen to be perfect. It was Golbat, Wobuffet, Jolteon, Azumarill, Mawile, and her beloved starter, Sceptile.
But today, May had vowed one thing.
Today, she would catch a Magikarp.
"May, Magikarp sucks. You don't need one! You have every legendary in Hoenn and then some! You have one of the rarest Pokémon in the world!" her rival, Brendan, tried to convince her. It was to no avail, however.
"Well, it's fabulous. I need it for the Pokédex, so I can show it to the Professor!" May responded. The two Trainers reached a lake. "Come on out, Azumarill!"
"Wait, what? Why do you need Azumarill?" May rolled her eyes at Brendan's stupidity.
"Duh! To use Surf to get me across the water!" She got on Azumarill's back, and it fell in to the water.
"But this whole time, I've just been swimming across..." Brendan said.
"Pokémon Trainers can't swim! Why do you think we have Water Pokémon?" May explained, a bit sarcastically.
Brendan paused, gaped, looked at his feet, looked up, and repeated this about 536.3281840³ times.
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get drunk, sit in the corner, and think about my life. See you around, May!"
May ignored him completely, instead focusing on finding the red shape of a Magikarp. Finally, she saw it. So, she sent out her Golbat to fight it.
"Let's go, Golbat!" she yelled. Suddenly, something caught her attention. It was gold, and sparkled like an unrealistically written vampire. It was also a fish.
"It's a shiny golden khrp!" she cried in excitement. "Golbat, use Confuse Ray on the shiny one!" Since Golbat outspeeds, Confuse Ray hit the Magikarp in the face.
Magikarp then slapped itself in the face. The confusion attacked it.
'Where am I? What's going on? I don't know... maybe if I slap myself, I can find out...'
THWACK.
"Hold the Muk up." A passing Muk stopped to listen to May, but quickly lost interest. "Why the heck do these guys hurt themselves in their confusion? I mean, they're Pokémon, not teenagers."
She stared at Magikarp, who slapped itself again. But then, the shiny golden crap- Uh, khrp- finally used a move. May ducked, for it was sure to have a good amount of devastating power.
Magikarp used Splash!
But nothing happened!
May looked at the Magikarp, who appeared to be very pleased with itself.
"What the actual frick?" May said. "Screw this, I'm going to go catch a Feebas. Golbat, return." The Pokémon returned to her Poké Ball, and May strode off.
But, the Champion was beginning to get a bit confused herself. After all, with such a weird Magikarp in her path, she didn't know what would come next.
May hurt herself in her confusion!
