The Frozen Girl
By Zjedmun
Princess Elsa, spending Days upon days at a time in her room, only coming out to eat. She would sit there miserably staring out of her large window that overlooked the courtyard of the palace. Because of her Condition she thought herself a danger to her younger sister Anna.
Her Dark room which was only dimly lit by candles was always cold. The cold never really bothered her. In fact she embraced it like an old friend.
The only company she had only came during the days that it snowed. She wasn't completely sure who he was exactly, even after all these years of his visits, but he was the closest thing to a parent she had since her real ones died at sea.
He was her warmth in her heart and her sanity in her head. He was the Doctor. The funny man who would make her laugh and bring her gifts. The first time they met he had said to her, "Look for the snow. I'll be there." He would Travel in his big blue box around the world but always be there when the snow came.
One night the eleven year old waited on her bed, waiting for the strange grinding noise that, while it used to scare her, marked the Doctor's coming. She stood there in her nice blue dress, looking hopefully at the middle of the room.
Soon enough the whirring noise sounded and began to grow louder. She smiled with excitement, her feet shaking slightly on the floor. She had waited for this through the summer when there was no snow… For the doctor to take her on another adventure.
As the blue form of the box began to appear out of thin air she stared in awe at its height and the bright lights from the windows.
With a low booming noise the TARDIS landed and the doors opened.
The tall lanky young man stood there, his long Victorian inter coat extended to just below his waist and his marvellous silk bow tie shining brightly in the candle light.
He gave a polite bow. "princess." His top hat fell off and rolled onto the floor.
Elsa giggled but gasped when she saw a small green box wrapped in a golden ribbon inside the hat.
The doctor quickly picked it up and placed it back on his head.
"No peaking." He pointed his finger at her nose. "Princess nosey." He grinned.
Elsa giggled again. "Sorry…" she leaned sideways to look inside the TARDIS. It was as Brilliant and as frosty blue and white as always on the inside.
The Doctor looked at her. "Where do you wanna go?" he asked.
Elsa looked up at him and gave her usual answer. "Anywhere, Mr Doctor."
As the sound of the TARDIS lifting off was sent throughout the palace, Elsa's younger sister Anna ran out of her room to visit her sister. "Elsa! It's snowing!" she cried happily as she sprinted down the corridor. She stopped at Elsa's door, panting a little. She lifted her hand to the door and knocked.
"Elsa? Do you wanna build a snowman?" she asked. There was no answer… She blinked twice.
Disappointment was clear on her face. "Fine..." she sighed, walking back to her room.
