"Harry," Hermione said hesitantly looking at him as the sun peeked through the curtains of the window "If he hadn't killed them would you still love me?"

Harry woke up and rubbed his eyes. "What did you say, love?"

"If Voldemort hadn't killed Ron and Ginny would things be the same?" Hermione rephrased her question hoping Harry would answer it.

"Well would you have stayed with Ron?"

"Would you have stayed with Ginny?" Hermione replied.

"Hermione please, answer me first. I promise I will tell you my answer."

Hermione bit her lip and looked at him." Well Ron was a great friend and a good snog..."

Harry's face filled with disgust.

"What he was!" Hermione stated indignantly. "But between all the fighting we had I would say that eventually that would have driven me away from him. But I wouldn't say I was in love with him."

Harry smiled. "I'm not going to lie to you. I was in love with Ginny. And she made it possible for me to live."

"What do you mean?" Hermione looked at him confused.

"I was the last Horocrux, Hermione. Ginny found a spell all on her own which gave her the power to take that burden from me. This made it so I could kill Voldemort. He was too smart. Once he realized that in order to die I had to die he knew he had won the war. Ginny was the only person who I told. I would have told you but this fact was discovered shortly after Ron's death. I didn't want to upset you anymore.

Hermione burst into tears. "You should have come to me! Then you two would be together!"

"We had thought about that. But then things changed. Ginny found out that the person taking the Horocrux had to love the other with all their heart. She knew she felt that way and was a willing sacrifice. It was the only way it would work."

Hermione looked at him "Well then why did you ask me to marry you?"

"Because you're intelligent, beautiful, resourceful, talented and perfect for me that's why. I was Ginny's true love. That's more than true. A little known fact was that you were mine. I had to hide it because I knew Ron felt the same way. I started feeling like this after Cho. I just went after Ginny because she was second best to me. My feelings for her were brotherly." Harry looked at her.

'Oh, In that case Harry remember that question you asked last night that I needed to think about? I say yes. I was just so unsure if you felt the same way about me as I did you. I was just being foolish. I'm sorry." Hermione let out in a rush.

Harry placed a ring on her finger and laughed. "It's okay. I love you."

"I love you too."

"I know. I knew even before I asked."

"Men!" Hermione chucked a pillow at Harry then squealed as he began to tickle her.
