A/N: Well I just got the Avengers the other day on the twenty-fifth, and I watched it. While I was watching it, I realized how many drabbles I could make from certain scenes. I'll try not to write too many drabbles and get on with my stories, but not promises... xD
Hesitant
Thor grunted as he hit the ground, dirt spewing up around him with the force of the tumble. Mjolnir went flying from his hand and cartwheeled across the field. He had landed on his back, and was blinking at the bright light of the sky. He wasted no time in getting to his feet and he glanced around, spotting the trail that Mjolnir had made. He slowly made his way over, practically fighting with the tall growth around him. His icy blue eyes found the handle of his hammer and he froze momentarily.
Was he seeing correctly? Taking another slow step forward, he realized he was. To any normal person, it would just be a hammer resting on it's side with the handle sticking up. To Thor, it was something else entirely. To him it was stuck there because he was not worthy to wield it. To him, it was stuck there because his brother had deceived him and hurt him so. To him, it was the night he had fought so hard to get to it, but could not lift it.
He hovered over it, about to reach out and summon it, but something stopped him. No... He had summoned it so many times before. This time, he wanted to pick it up. He had changed. He was no longer who he was before. Why would he not be able to lift it? He briefly looked down at his hand and then back at the hammer.
As he reached down, time seemed to slow down around him and he could almost feel the raindrops on his face. He could feel the mud coating his soaking body. He was back in New Mexico. He was heaving with exhaustion from the fights and his breaths came out short and ragged. His hand hovered over the hammer's handle for a brief second before he wrapped his fingers around it.
A/N: I feel really stupid for writing something so short. Guess I'm just too used to writing stories xD I think the next drabble will be a Clintasha one. Hope you enjoyed.
