Date : A Naruto Fan Fiction
Naruto shot awake at the sound of his alarm.
Oh crap, I'm gonna be late!
He jumped out of bed and rushed into the bathroom. He quickly showered and brushed his teeth. Glancing at the clock, he cursed again.
Hurrying out his front door, he made his way down the stairs of his apartment to the street. His first stop was Ino's flower shop, which unfortunately took him in the opposite direction from his ultimate destination. He walked brusquely down the street, waving to all the villagers that greeted him. He was about to turn the corner, when a stall caught his eye. It was full of beautiful figures and charms, obviously hand crafted. He went up to the vendor.
"Hey what are these charms for?" He asked, picking one up.
"They all mean different things. Some are for luck, some for gratitude, and the like. The one you are holding is for love." The woman explained.
Naruto looked closer at it. "Love, huh?"
It was really nice. A red crystal, surrounded by small, intricate curls of metal, suspended on a red string.
"I think I'll take it."
He paid the vendor, and waved goodbye, continuing on his way. He kept walking for a few minutes until he reached the flower shop.
"Hi there Ino!" He called, stepping inside. "You got that order ready for me?"
"Hey Naruto!" She replied, coming over to the counter. "Yup, it's all ready. A dozen red roses, just like you asked."
"Perfect, thanks Ino!"
She smiled. "No problem. Just say hello for me, okay?"
Naruto smiled back. "Of course! See you later."
"See you."
He left the shop and went the other way. Just one more stop. He glanced at his watch.
I'm going to be a little late...
He quickened his pace, making his way to Ichiraku's. He sighed in relief when he saw the familiar curtains up ahead.
"Old man, hey, two miso ramen to go please!" He called, sitting on one of the stools.
"Coming right up Naruto!"
Naruto settled at the counter, checking his watch every few minutes. He was going to be even later at this point...
"Here you are! Two miso ramen, piping hot and ready to go."
Naruto looked up and grinned. "Hey, thanks old man! I'll come back for more later, okay?"
Teuchi laughed. "Okay, see you then."
Naruto got up and left the stand. Now he could finally get to where he needed to be. He walked until he was at the edge of the village, then turned down a dirt path and continued until he got to a clearing. It sunny and warm, surrounded by trees and wildflowers. He made his way to the tall oak tree on the opposite side. Kneeling down, he placed the charm, roses, and one of the bowls of ramen in front of the stone there.
Gingerly, he reached out and ran his fingers over the name engraved on the stone.
"Hello, Sasuke."
