Nerds and Rusted cages.

Zap, zap, zap. My eye twitched as I listened to the light go in and out. My back laying on the cold, hard surface of my cage, while my legs were up and pressed against the door. Letting out an annoyed groan I kicked the door. I may be a genetic mutant freak, but for the love of gad and sake of humanity fix that light. Just as the white blinding light went out again I heard a slow and raspy voice.

"Kicking the door won't solve anything." My head whipped up and to the left to see a boy hugging his knees against his chest and staring at me.

"Thanks for the insight." I muttered while giving a sarcastic smile.

"No need to be so sarcastic babe." I closed my eyes painfully slow when I heard a velvet soft tone coming from the right.

"Its not my fault I am." I snapped back. My grey eyes darted to her surprisingly deep blue eyes.

"Wrong it is. Its your personality. Though that doesn't mean that you have to use it on him, he did nothing to deserve it, just telling you the truth as to if you keep kicking the door it won't get you anywhere. Just face the facts and realize you were being a a bit rude and that was unnecessary." My jaw dropped as she finished her little speech, flipping a piece of blonde hair that feel into her face over her shoulder. Rolling my eyes I continued to look forward. Just then an idea popped into my head.

"Have any of you just randomly thought of escaping?" My voice seemed to boom around awkward silence that the room held.

"Of course who hasn't?" The girl with blonde hair told me.

"Well what if we made a plan and escaped?" I questioned her. She nodded her head thoughtfully.

"We could do it, but it would take time and stealth, I would imagine."

"How would you even get out of the cages though?" I asked again. This time she looked around the room biting her lower lip. Her eyes brightened when they landed on something.

"You! You with the curly dark brown hair and brown eyes. Any ideas?" My eyes followed her gaze and landed on the kid she defended before. He noticeable gulped and grew pale.

"Well- um, you see, y-you could. You would need one powerful kick to the latch placed in the corner of the crate. I've noticed that yours is slightly rusted," My eyes cut from his gaze and lokoed at the small clip attached to my cage and sure enough it was rusted, "with a good enough kick it will collapse and you could get out." I looked back at blondies face.

"Thank you!"She then looked back at me, and nodded her head. "Go on." Nodding I brought my leg up and prayed to god that this would work.

"Lets hope for the best right?" My tone sarcastic as my foot came launching down on the corner of the cage.
