Cas is new to this whole human thing and there are a lot of things he has to learn to do. Sam is very helpful and seems to enjoy having someone to take care of for a change. But the day they come back from a hunt and Cas is covered in dirt and blood Sam mysteriously disappears, leaving Dean to teach Cas how to shower.

He shows Cas how the knobs work and gives him a quick tutorial on washing his hair and body, then leaves Cas to it. Unfortunately, something he didn't mention was that Cas should wrap a towel around himself before stepping out of the bathroom. So when Cas opens the door to ask Dean if he has done a good job, Dean is greeted with the view of a completely naked Castiel.

Dean's jaw drops and he tries valiantly though unsuccessfully not to glance down. Cas smiles at Dean and asks if he should put the same clothes back on or get clean ones. Dean says nothing. He is not sure he is able to say anything. He is not sure how to speak. He is not sure of his own name. Eventually he manages to gesture towards his bedroom to indicate Cas should take some of his clean clothes.

Cas smiles and walks away, leaving Dean with too tight pants, wondering what the hell had just happened and when he started wanting his best friend to bone him. He is still standing there when Sam returns with a satisfied smirk on his face.

Dean had always been protective of those he loved but this reached a whole new level once Cas became human. Without his angel powers, Dean saw Cas as vulnerable and he didn't know how to deal with it. What he ended up doing was trying to do everything for Cas.

But when Dean pulled Cas out of the way during an easy hunt and let the monster escape, Cas had had enough. He grabbed Dean by the collar and slammed him against the wall.

'Do you still think I'm weak, Dean?' Dean's breathing was erratic and his heart rate had sped up. Cas slammed into him again.

'I am not weak do you understand. You will let me do my job, got it?' Dean nodded. Cas' whole body was pressed against his and heat was radiating from him.

'Good.' Cas let go of Dean and went to revive Sam after the monster had knocked him out. Dean tried to follow but found his legs were shaky and his pants seemed to have shrunk. He shook his head and tried to put the incident out of his mind, but failed.

He is still thinking about it late at night and he smiles.

Seeing Cas in clothes other than those Jimmy Novak had worn was something Sam was looking forward to. Dean didn't understand his enthusiasm.

'Come on Dean, this is exciting. I mean, he has never worn anything else unless you count when he was possessing Claire. But this is different. Let's make this fun for him.'

Dean thought his brother was crazy and therefore elected to stay home while Sam took Cas shopping for the outfits he would need to pull off various aliases during hunts. When they came back to the bunker, Sam insisted Cas model his new outfits for Dean. Dean rolled his eyes and called Sam a bitch but didn't argue as his brother returned the sentiment and passed Cas the first outfit he should try on.

Sam sat down while Dean leaned against the table. Cas was back in a few minutes wearing one of his new outfits. Dean's jaw dropped. Sam pushed it closed for him.

Cas was wearing an army getup complete with a gun holster strapped to his thigh and a pair of aviators. Dean tried to remember how to breathe and ultimately failed. He stared at Cas. Cas stared back.

Sam stood up and started edging out of the room.

Despite what Dean thought, Cas was not oblivious to human behaviour and nor was he blind. When he saw Dean's reaction to his new outfit, he walked over to the table, picked up the keys to the impala and threw them to Sam.

'Drive, anywhere, for a long time.'

Sam smiled.
