Summary: It's a night of rejection at the crime lab.
Author's Notes: Written for csi50. Takes place at least three or four years in the future, since I figure Lindsey would be 17 or 18 then. Loosely based on a conversation I had about college with my dad and my brother.

"Hey, Linds! Your mom's out in the garage, want me to get her?" Greg asked the young blonde as she rounded the corner and made her way into the break room. Lindsey rarely needed someone to accompany her when she was in the lab, but Greg liked spending time with the younger Willows woman.
"Yeah, that'd be great, Greg." Lindsey replied, falling in step with him as they made their way through the lab.
"So have you heard from any more colleges yet?" Greg asked.
"That's why I'm here! University of Nevada in Reno didn't accept me!" Lindsey replied, exasperated.
"Didn't five other schools accept you though?" Greg inquired, pushing open the door to the lab.
"That's not the point! I wanted to have options!"
"Catherine, would you tell your daughter that a little rejection isn't so bad?" Greg said, passing Lindsey off to her mom and making his way over to Sara who was helping her process their latest victim's car.
"Are you trying to tell me rejection can be a good thing?" Sara asked, setting down her flashlight and facing Greg.
"Yeah. You rejected me for years before we even went on one date," Greg said, smiling at his wife. "Look where we are now!" Greg said, leaning down to kiss his wife.
Sara pulled away quickly and left Greg standing next to the car, dumbfounded.
"Come on, Greg," Sara teased. "You can't take a little rejection?" She laughed.
