She tried to like him, she really did. But the constant threat of running into her made her stop. No matter how hard she made her thoughts stay connected to his, her mind would always wonder back to her. The same her who was entering the Valley Inn at that moment.

Looking back towards her date, she forced a laugh at yet another one of his lame jokes. She looked towards the couple and smiled briefly. The girl's shared a look of disappointment at the other's choices in company for dinner but didn't dare show it or speak it on their lips. When she waved them over, her heart stopped. Could this have been the chance that she had been looking for her whole life?

No, instead her date escorted her over to their table. She watched their every movements, feeling the jealousy as his arms slid their way around his date's waist.

"You know," She stood up. "I need to run to the ladies room. Come with?" She questioned of her. Her heart jumped into warp speed as she enthusiastically nodded yes.

They made their way towards the bathrooms silently. Suddenly she wondered if something was wrong. But why would she have been invited over to the table if she weren't wanted?

Once inside, she heard the door shut and lock. Her breath came up on her ear in a whisper that made her shiver. "I've missed you."

"I've missed you too." Her voice was shaky and she kept her words as short as possible for the fear of her voice cracking on her was too much to bear. She was suppose to be tough, that was the exterior that she held anyways.

Despite wanting to tell the town of their love, she made them keep it quiet. She risked losing a lot more than the other female. Or that's how she always explained it.

"The way you were hanging all over..." She bring herself to even say his name. It disgusted her in a sense.

"No, that's nothing more than just a friendship. He already knows that. It's just a show for other people so that they don't get suspicious of us."

She never listened to a word that was spoken, instead she watched her lips move. Then the sudden need to taste, to feel, those lips on hers was too much to take.

The kiss took her by surprise but she loved it. They melted into each other and would have never parted if someone hadn't have started knocking on the door. Quickly they separated, slightly embarrassed at their eagerness for contact.

Just as they were about to leave, she stopped them. "Erica, your lipstick is smeared."

Erica Kane quickly turned to the mirror and touched up the lipstick. "Thank you Brooke." She said after fixing herself up. Together they walked back out to their table, pretending that nothing had happened.
